Hi!

First off, I am new to this game AND computers so bare with me please...

I downloaded the game and followed the setup to get it started. When I go to open the game, it lets me through the main menu just fine. When I click launch (play, or whatever it is, not at home to see what it actually says) it goes to a black screen for a second then back to the desktop. There is a popup from PR that says something (EDIT: it says 'PR has closed, cleaning up resources'), but its only up for a split second so I haven't been able to see what it actually says. It doesn't appear to be an error message.

As far as I know I have downloaded/ updated the required plugins (directX, C++, and .netframework). I'm unsure what to do! Or even what I haven't done..I followed the installation guide to a T.

As far as I'm aware my computer meets the minimum required specs, even the recommened specs that the manual suggests.

I would love to start playing this game and any help or tips for a new PC user to get me started would be appreciated!!!!

I don't believe so. I'm not sure if there is any antivirus that is installed. This computer was given to me recently and I'm pretty new to all of it as is lol

I noticed that my monitor has a 30Hz refresh rate and PR is trying to load in with 60Hz. I don't see an option to change it to 30 via PR. Is that what is preventing the game from loading?? If so how can I fix that??

That could be the issue, I have no idea how to sort that out though. Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will give you a reply.

your monitor is running at 30hz. pr only runs at 60Hz. assuming this is a monitor: i don't recall the exact steps, but if you have nvidia drivers, you should be able to right click and go to nvidia control panel and play around with it to see if you change your refresh rate to 60. be sure if you run it at native resolution..

if this is an HDTV, this won't run unless it can run 60 hz
