4 servers and all with crappy high pings? I want to battle! Bring back the good days of BF2.. Are there not a lot of people playing this? If that's the case, I'm disappointed.

What are you talking about? There are currently 79 servers up and running and around 370 people playing (and it's early morning in Europe even).

Let's not beat around the bush here. 60+ of those 79 servers will see less than 5 players in a 7 day period. Clan only locked servers people have forgotten about, skirmish only runs nobody thinks twice about, etc.

The game isn't dead but it isn't even close to populating almost 80 100 player servers.

He's right. At the time of this message: 3 servers around 98players and one around 15. That's 4.

Would you join a server with 4 people in it? I wouldn't. Although 4 servers is alright imo.

Captain Obvious . All I'm saying is there are 80-ish servers up. And 370 people playing is not bad considering it's early morning in Europe. Sure, at the time he was checking it might have been less, but still.

Check again at another time, bgd2980, and you'll see there are plenty more players and populated servers. On European evenings/nights is when you'll see most players online.

I don't live in Europe man. I live in the US. The pings on those servers are not playable. 150 and above.. Terrible.

While more choice is always better, if there is a spot for you, that's all you need. Specially given IMO almost every PR server is the same. Not many server customization in PR outside from some server rules. I'm pretty happy that after 10 years PR:BF2 still pulls almost 800 people on weekends on high play hours. That's way more then PR/BF2 had a few years ago. So I'll be happy with 1 server

I know............ I was only saying that most players are active on European nights. You can figure out what time that is yourself.

And 150 ping isn't terrible, I often play on US servers with that ping - no problems at all. If it gets much higher, then you can see more rubberbanding and weird stuff, but if it's around 150, then you shouldn't have much issues at all. Assuming you're not on wireless, because that's often pretty terrible .

PR team needs to add more players in next patch.

Last I heard players were hardcoded.
Anyways, there are always at least 2 US serves up with a good amount of players on them. And like AD said, 150 ping is not an issue on this game. I play on US Servers quite a lot with more than 150 ping and it's all fine as long as it's under 200.

I'm getting 30mb/s on my desktop. Playing shouldn't be an issue.

If you're from the US and getting 150 ping to US servers that's an issue with either your ISP or where you're routing through to get to those servers, not the servers themselves.

wow what is the OP talking about, PR is by far the most popular BF2 mod ever.. even though its kinda of standalone now, its still a BF2 mod, Ive been playing since 0.4 days and I have never seen it so popular than it is now, sure its not pulling in ten of thousands of players in one sitting, but for what it is.. it sure is doing very well...

and finally on another note, PR is the kind of game where its not about the number of players but its about teh number of decent team working good players.. and I would rather have one server of decent team working players than 5000 COD wannabes

Also, don't forget we have 100 players in one server. 3 servers may seem low to you, but that is as close to 300 people playing. Now if we remember BF2 back in the days, we had 64 players max in one server which will mean 4/5 servers to accommodate todays 300 players.

iirc there were more 32p servers back in the day and that means even more servers (9 full servers to be exact)

Hey, consider yourself lucky.... at least you can play without getting disconnected 15 minutes into majority of rounds. I rarely lag though in PR. It's once in a blue moon.


And 150 ping is fine... When I don't get DC'ed... I get 175 on euro servers at the good... and It's darn playable. When you get over 300... then it's a issue.


What time you go on PR? IF you go on around 12pm-10pm eastern time... you will always find a lot of servers. I think PR seems to have it's peak time during the European's evenings.
