Probably been asked before but is it not possible to actually shade the DoD zones on an ingame map? I have to escape>join internet>get info to see where it is..or use the prspy app, but that takes time too.

It would be useful for knowing if a FOB is in a DoD or not.

Or better - make Fobs and other emplacements unbuildable (always bleeding?) in DOD. Aaand this totally is a suggestion thread.

I have suggested that and apparently the code cannot handle that. Thats what devs said

Typical.
Anyway, can someone move this to suggestions forum section? It's a worthy suggestion. I still see people building mortars/FOBs in DOD nowadays.

So...revisiting this, can the code not handle a shaded area on the map? Seems a bit unlikely...or is it the actual terrain map?

easy answer: doesn't work out
real answer:
Python code doesn't know where the DOD is, since that's done though Map's Combat Zones. It may be possible with a lot of work for Python to read the Combat Zone code, but we don't have many Python coders in the team and they are busy frying bigger fish

But I don't know if same applies on
actually seeing the DOD border on minimap. I recall that answer was only about prohibiting building in DOD with python script.
