Hi all,

I was wondering why on Dovre, Dovre Winter, Beirut, and maybe a couple more, the Russians are on Blufor side?

This can disarrange the mapcycle imo. For example that you play Saareemaa as Russian Opfor and next round is Beirut then you are again Russians on Blufor and so on.

Wouldn't it be more logic to set Russians on all maps to Opfor side just for the sake of mapcycle & gameplay variation for the player itself?

What is the reason behind it that on some maps the Russians are on Blufor anyway, just wondering?

Old school devs follow the idea of attacker/defender. Not blufor/opfor.

Blue force / Red force
Opposition Force / Main Force

Was actually because Militia was the main force Russia was against to start with and as such, RU was made Team 2 since Militia was already Team 1.

But I agree with the OP that it would be good to have RU Team 1 (ie, RedFor) on maps its against another conventional faction like the Dutch.

Would it be hard or difficult to change teamsides on current maps?

Not hard. Just takes time.

I agree with the OP.

It just causes annoying teamswapping or annoyed people, because they need to play as russian twice.

Keep in mind, some factions are not well balanced enough to play against each other. Regarding to their RoF + their precision vs RU weapons, regarding to the same attributes.


I'm not saying it is impossible but sometimes a lot of people, including me, are feeling frustrated because of this.

(I am not trying to push DEVS here for that specific work, because I know it takes time to mod).

If the case is attacking team, then on Vadso the Blufor should be Russia because they are attacking from the sea

Agree with OP, its annoying to play as the same faction twice numerous times

I suggest otherwise
Russia always Bluefor, other factions always Opfor.

Yeah it makes no sense that if you call one side "Blufor" to then call the other "Opfor"
It's Position force VS Opposition force
Or Blue team (Blufor) VS Red team (Redfor) The mixup probably comes from CoD Modern Warfare having a faction so unimaginatively named with the "Opfor" while other forces all have names that can correlate to some special forces from real life.
