Greetings, I've been highly intrigued by this game. The Community seems very nice and I would very much like to add to that niceness haha. Now I'll be honest with you all. I'm 15. My grammar, and spelling probably suck. But if it's one thing I would like is a Learning curve. I want to be apart of that Teamwork I've watched here over these few months. I hope me Being only 15 isn't an anchor on my participation here in this wonderful community. I'm willing to take baby steps to learn to play. If Anyone would be willing to spare some time out of their busy schedules to train a noobie like me self I would be much obliged :-o

You will face some ageism, but don't let it hinder you. I've played with several very young players that have a better handle on the game than older folks. That said, your maturity is what will determine your ability to succeed. Just listen to your SL and good luck.

Thank you, I'll give 100% and follow commands. How do you recommend I start? Like, do I just join a server?

Start with coop, there's usually a nice community behind it and they won't most of the time judge based on age then after you feel you're ready head into deployment and play against other players.

Haven't read the whole thread, but make sure you've had a look at the manual, should be linked in the PR launcher. When you join a server (deployment) make sure you tell your squad leader you're new. Say you're happy going rifleman and focus on keeping your SL alive. Pay attention to the map and make sure you're with your squad.

I'll add a little to that.

Read through the manual for the basics, then hop into a deployment server.

Look for a squad named "INF", "ENG INF" or similar. Basically, you want an infantry squad that speaks your language and that will welcome new/random players.

If it feels as though your squad leader is ignoring you, don't sweat it. Ask questions when it seems appropriate, but for the first few rounds try to simply follow along - you'll find that you learn quickly just by observing. And don't forget that other members of your squad can be an excellent resource.

Don't accept that whatever server/squad you join first is the definitive PR experience, either. Try different servers, find one that seems like a good fit for you. I'm sure others here will offer suggestions on that front.

Don't bother with co-op unless you want to test/practice something. IMO, co-op just isn't what PR is about.

Welcome, good luck, have fun!

Yeah what Grey said about CO-OP is true, it isn't what PR feels like but it is the perfect place to test weapons, vehicles, physics.

My suggestion is to stick with infantry in the beginning. Always tell your SQL you're now and what kits you can use and use comms correctly, if there's time for joking it's fine but if the SQL is speaking with other squads or has ordered hold comms for any reason, that's what you should do.

Don't be afraid to try new things. Nothing is hard, all you need is practice. You want to do armor? Yes, you can do it, but not before you've done a couple of good rounds of infantry. Before you try any vehicles in a deployment server, check them out in local or coop server.

Thank you all for the suggestions! all are taken into account and noted. I'll read the manual thoroughly. I'll see you all on the battlefield... 8-)

Good COOP session yesterday LJP, I was in your squad on that depressing Russian map!

I used to always play only deployment for years, then I found myself with only high ping servers so I started hanging on a local low ping coop.

Found a fun bunch with a decent admin presence, low stress and a lot more laughs and less frustration than PvP. No fighting for assets.

OFC its not the same when you drop a real player as opposed to a BOT

Haha I remember. That was fun. Hope I wasn't too much of a weight on our element. Especially with my poor medic skills

Best Advice i Ever got in PR when i was learning. I asked "How do you know if its a bomb car?" Guy responds "Right Click". 3 seconds later I learned how to waste assets and saved myself from future messages like ALT+F4 to get Lazer canon kit from that you can request from the tank.
