So... I never picked up a copy of BF2. That might be sacrilege here but hey, they botched up flight dynamics bad for both helicopters and jets. Seeing as how I normally fly vehicles and prefer it to ground combat, I saw no point in buying it. Something comparable would be the old Desert Combat mod for BF1942 for fun... while not extremely accurate they at least did get the relative flight physics for helicopters somewhat down versus the noobified version I saw in BF2.

Any chance this mod fixed it and flying is once again slightly challenging and fun? If so, how has it changed.

I miss competitive play and not much lately has caught my eye. I'm hoping things have changed. Let me know.

Helicopters are being somewhat redone for .5, which should be out... sooner than later. I think a jet physics redo is due for the next version, but not sure.

In general, our heli physics are slightly better with some helicotpers, but not too much. We've been focusing on maps, brits, guns and ground gameplay changes.

Well technically it is still .4 ... so you can still fly!
+ you havent tried .5 - how do you know you cant fly them?

it just takes skill....

LBs are so much easier now than they were in 0.32. You can actually fly now! Before you just sort of slowly puttered about. Now you can do sweet maneuvres, and fly quickly through the streets until you come to your LZ. Drop your troops and haul ***. You couldn't do that before.

.5 should be much harder to fly if you don't know what you're doing. It will take practice.

I do really miss the DC chopper controls. The BF2 controls seem very arcadey and self-correcting. The DC controls were nowhere near as forgiving.
