Heya fellas,
As the topic already describes, i would like to play pr on a Notebook while i'm offshore working.
How much should i spend for the machine? 500? 700?

Don't know how much but 8 gigs of ram and 2 gigs of GPU would be sufficient but considering future scope might wanna go higher on those values.

Hey tackleberry, good beating you gave me and CORPORAL three days ago in Muttrah.
I play PR with a 6 years old laptop with 4 Gb of RAM and a really shitty AMD GPU. The processor was above average, but quite old as for now.
I am able to run perfectly with low graphic settings, and with medium fine as well, but crashes due to filled ram (poor ram management of BF engine) occur after 3 hours of gameplay in average.

I bought this recently and it works great for PR and most games:
ROG G751JT | ROG - Republic Of Gamers | ASUS Global

Pretty sure that's massivley overkill with his needs. A modern 500 laptop should be more than enough.

Get the best you can afford - check how easy it is to clean properly, to access my vents insides which is where the dust is, I remove 6 screws then 3 for the fan. Think of cooling if a discreet GPU gets too hot the lead free solder will crack.
Heat kills gaming laptops - ask me how I know.

Thanks a lot for all your replies!
Haha yeah it was fun agus
As you already said, the Asus Notebook seems a Bit too Overkill for pr and Stuff xd.
Think i will go for an i5, 950m graphics card, 8 gigs ram, 500GB, just have to choose a case which is easy to clean to avoid the Notebook From overheating. For some reason i cant Post links on this reply

Yeah, if your only needs are the games stated above, your choose seems completely fine.
Brand wise, I personally recommend Asus. Beware the poor heat management of some HP's, and avoid Acer: I've been told that they enforce programmed obsolescency (pc falls apart in 2 years no matter what)

Jupp, had an Acer and a HP, both died due overheating.
Any experience with Msi? Read something about the lower Budget Notebooks are Kind of Bad Quality case wise

I have a MSI since 2012, still manage to play bf3 and even BF4 (not on big maps though)
Mine have a optional ventilation that I can activate to cool it down.

The things you want for playing PR on a laptop in my long experience of doing it are:
- Big screen. If you can carry a 17" inch laptop around it's worth it.
- At least 4GB of RAM. >6 would be ideal.
- The highest clockrate intel CPU you can find. PR runs on a single core with instructions that work on a pentium 4 or so. A high clockrate dual core will probably run PR better than a 2.4GHz i7.
- A numpad. Don't be that squadleader.

Hahah who the hell is playing pr without a numpad?

I did for about two years, tried to avoid SLing when possible.
Also every few weeks I encounter somebody who uses that excuse as to why he's spamming all SL chat with chatter meant for only one squad.

True that. I'm playing on 15", guess it's reasoning well why i'm always trans helo and logistics, no anti-aliasing can save me
A numpad. Don't be that squadleader.

I am writing this on a 2008 MSI GX720 (overclock button +16%) which I was playing on up until August last year on a 1920X1080 external monitor although pretty much all low at that resolution. About two years ago I noticed a big FPS drop due to a PCI lane problem which went when
I replaced the MXM graphic cardwith a second hand ebay one. Thank the gods it was a replaceable one....
I clean it very often when subjected to daily playing, I just changed a motherboard in an Acer (homa make?) they're not that bad, but no I wouldn't buy one. Any laptop will die because of heat.
I would choose MSI or Asus with easy cleaning and a replaceable GPU, preferably a big seller so there will be parts on ebay if you ever need them in the future.
For just PR and other old or simple graphics
CX72 but maybe700 euro i7 at 3.5 GT940MX
http://www.notebookcheck.com/Nvidia-GeForce-940MX-DDR3-Test-im-MSI-CX72.160935.0.html Its going to run modern games but on low.

I'm using a MSI GP70 and it works good on high settings.
Agree with Liams tips: 17" and numpad are required to enjoy the game
