[Weapon] Colt Canada C7A1 NLD & C8(A1) NLD [WIP]

Hi everyone,
Here is a little project I am working on for the Dutch Faction. Right now the Dutch Forces in game use an outdated version of the C7 (rifle) and C8 (carabine). In 2009 we started to upgrade all of our rifle's from this:

C7A1 NLD



C8NLD:


As you can see the rifle received several new parts and it is up to me to model and UV map those parts. The handguard for the C8 is done and just needs some proper UV-maps. The Buttstock is also pretty much ready for UV-maps but it might just get some more detail.

For the C8NLD it is all about these 2 parts:

I haven't modeled the C7's polymer handguard extension yet, but I will do that ASAP.
Some questions:
- How should I work UV-wise? Should I make a separate .max file for each of the 3 new parts I created and make separate UV-maps for them?
- How is my tri count, should I add more or less details to the buttstock if this would be the 1st person model? And what about the 3rd Person model?
This is my first time modeling a rifle so I am going to need some good feedback.
