Returning to BF - headset recommendations?

Returning to gaming after about 8 years, which was predominantly BF2 (can't remember the mod that was popular back then?).

Low and behold - people are still playing BF2!

Anyway, spotted a reference to PR on Reddit, which brings me here. Before I can start playing online, I need help finding a decent headset for a bargain price (~$50-$100). Preferably one with location/3D sound.

What the cheapest option you guys would consider worth buying?

If you can find a deal on a Sennheiser GAME ONE headset, then pull the trigger. It's been my favorite headset for years now. It's an open design and it's so comfortable. I can wear it for hours.

As good as it looks, I can't justify the spend. Really looking for entry level that's actually worth spending money on.

I just use a random 30$ headset. Basically every headset you can buy now has at least stereo which is enough for PR.
I don't really keep an eye on the Aussie market, but maybe you could check these out:

Hope you find a good headset.

I've been using these for ~3 years, no issues. The bass is boosted though, smoke people might not like it.

30 bucks, that headset is worth it. Basic headset for basic needs. I wouldn't buy any cheap gaming headset since what you pay is what you get.

I wouldn't buy any cheap headset as you can also get really awesome equipment for cheap.

I've been using AKG K77 for 5 years (AKG Acoustics is an Austrian company and they make good shit). You can get a piece in Amazon for less then 30$. I know that there are headphones at 70-100$ range that will beat the sound quality of AKG K77, but at 30$ price range I can't imagine better headphones.

You seriously need the 3D sound? (can't say I know anyone using a 3D setup) any good headphones (these included) you can easily feel the 3D soundscape in any virtual environment.

Buy once, cry once.

I was in a boat of buying $30 headsets at a time, and they all kept breaking after about 7 months each.

Finally got a Sennheiser in 2011 and it's still going strong today.

Get a seperate microphone, gaming headsets are silly and expensive.

Couple it with nice earphones you can use for music.

Basiclly every Mic will do the Trick. I got a webcam, which has a 2 Meter Cable, using it as a Mic. combined with the dt 990 pro headphones, Best decision ever.

Never ever buy a " 3D" headset, Thats just Marketing bullcrap. Every decent stereo headphones can do it a lot better. I had the Same Problem and asked in several Forums, everyone told me to Not get a 3D uber gaming headset, those are just overprised....

Check out the beyerdynamic headphones at your local store i bet you will Fall in love immediately, so comfortable even after 20+ hrs of gaming. 130 bucks

I got myself a hyperx cloud2 set which was cheap. It's comfortable, sounds quality is good and has detachable mic if you just want to use it for music. Also comes with a plane adapter which is handy!

You can get a lot of options online from which you can choose. I have a friend who got a pair of cheap HD headphones and uses them while gaming. You can view online for those and get one.
