Fallujah West - Seeding it dead

Why has Fallujah West become the "only" seeding map? I think it is a shame that all servers are using only this map to seed. People will play that map more often than any other map and thus dont want to play it again in a serious match of 50 vs 50.

Reminder: There is 50 maps in PR. INS was not designed for seeding only. Skirmish exists.

So what I would like to ask: Am I the only one who thinks "abusing" a fantastic map for seeding over and over again is a shame? Or does the majority of the player base actually want fallujah on every server that is not full?

1 last thing: Since Fallujah is listed as one of the top maps on every server, this is not meant to trashtalk a specific server. So before you post (I hope someone does) pls dont name&shame any server.

You have nothing to show that it is used as a seeding map, only that it is played a lot.

Personally I don't have the feeling that it is overplayed. And i'm also of the opinion that skirmish maps for seeding is dumb. 1km maps are preferred for obvious reasons, Asad khal i feel is more common.

If you don't like doing it then just don't.

Two years ago people were having the same discussion about muttrah.

If you get a couple of crashes a day, you start to notice what servers use as first map. A lot of servers went away from skirmish for w/e reason and are indeed using Fallujah or Basrah.
E.g. BASED right now:

Its not that terrible unless you play on Hardcore and the next map is Insurgency again

We do INS AAS mvote when the server have enough players, it's the 3rd time I tell you. :)

Fallujah was our default map last month and beyond, so it's probably counting all the time the server was empty back then too, but even now we still seed on it.

I guess main reason that Fallujah is popular for seeding is that the map is small, balanced, not asset heavy, hard to get a steamroll on low population time because the way Insurgency works and a really good map in general.

Good afternoon,

Nailed it on the head. It has enough assets for the asset whores, urban terrain for the grunts, both sides have area attack, and plenty of play room for CIVIES.

Skirmish maps
1. Become cluster@#@'s fast.
2. Most of the times, admins can't react quickly enough before the round is over to do a proper map vote to set the next map.
3. Serious/asset players get pissed off due to all the tom foolery.

I have to say, my favorite skirmish map is Khami.

And i thank god every day for that, since every 1km map SUCKS for 50vs50 games. it makes PR become a call of duty clusterfuck

If they could please use a random map script to seed, that'd be great. Sure maps like Grozny or Dragon Fly don't seed, but if all the servers adopt it en-masse, people will prefer it 100%.

Random seeding maps need to be forced down their throats.

Its not about if I like the map. I never mentioned anything like that

1. Why
2. Thats the admins' fault then. I guess every admin does this mistake once and will then never do it again. But in general, there is enough time for a mapvote.
3. Well, same actually happens on ins maps as well.

Could also be a 30v30.

Here are some disadvantages of seeding with INS:
- The rule "How many players are needed so I can do X" needs to be enforced (ppl take the gary in a 5v5 situation more often than you might think
- I have also seen players destroying their own caches/griefing in general

And advantages of skirm:
- Map doesnt need to be setup with FOBs etc.
- Less room for griefers and rulebreakers
- You dont need X players to be allowed to actually play the gamemode the it was meant to be played

Another big disadvantage is that it takes ages for a map to end. You could runnext if you wanted to, but that crashes the server more often than many people would like so it's highly discouraged. If you seed with skirmish maps however it will not take long for a half-full server to finish the map, at which point you can set a "proper" map as the next one to fill it all up.

Another disadvantage is that people joining on INS are more likely to vote for another INS map as next. (Looking at you H :p )

I'm actually glad it's the most seeded map.

All i can say about my experience (almost only on NA servers while seeding) is that you have a high percentage chance of your server seeding when on fallujah west compared to skirmish.

I saw my share of people leaving and joining other servers if they are on fallujah and you are on a skirmish and seeding,

For the EU servers i can not give a opinion cause i never really played their when the server where seeding,
about the argument about griefers when seeding on ins you coud say the same on skirmish so

As for =]H[= as we are historically a mainly insurgency server Fallujah was our map of choice for seeding as it has had the best results over the long term and is small. We have been using skirmish maps to seed though as of recently. As for my personal opinion ive never liked skirmish, just an overall boring gamemode though i understand its uses i just dont find it fun.

maybe make AAS more fun or make more INS maps so theres more variety ;)
