Wasn't sure if this was best served here or in the map feedback thread, but whatever.
Anyways, I was a fan of Qwai back in "the day", and had lots of great games on it. However, the more modern version of the game doesn't really feel like it plays well. Even early on when scopes were becoming the norm, it felt like the map was something undersized.
As I was playing it yesterday I got to thinking that - name aside - it might actually make a decent Vietnam map. Iron sights for just about everyone, limited vehicles, and it's already using "Asian" assets. Given the focus on Infantry combat in the Vietnam maps, I think it would be a good match. Scratch the name off, switch the assets, and you may have a winner.

Chinese architecture aside, they'd have Chinese voices and that's kind of a bummer. We do the same on Barracuda though, although it's actually ridiculous - it's the same if we'd use French voices for the Germans.
But still, I'd love another map that features the Vietnam factions though .

Barracuda doesn't feature any chinese statics so I can sort of live with the solution there
But Qwai is 100% a chinese map featuring tons of Chinese content, so putting vietnam on it makes very little sense Honestly a map like Qwai is really simplistic, so if anyone is up for a rice-field filled, infantry focused map for vietnam, making on should be a fun project for a beginning mapper that might read this

Logistics aside, remaking the whole map with Vietnam statics would be an epic "how it looked back in the day" thing.

Hm, I was wondering if the PRT was having Chinese statics or if it was doing duty as a "Generic Asian Static". Not something I knew about at the time.
Voices: I had wondered why that was the case for Barracuda. I thought maybe it was an oversight, placeholder, or some kind of joke I wasn't in on. Can that not be changed? It has been six or so years since I last played with modding the game at all.
