Will this joystick work? Saitek X52 Pro Flight

Hello all,
I have a SaitekX52 Pro flight joystick and thrust controller, and I'm curious if this would work with PR. While I can fly a chopper with key and mouse, I'd prefer to fly better with this setup.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
Cheers

If you can get the software to actually work.

I'm not sure what Rabbit means...does PR have issues specifically with the SaitekX52? If not, it should work fine, just make sure you set up the axes right.

The X52 software works fine for other games, but it didn't in Steam's latest version of BF2. I'll try it today and report back here.

The x52 Pro works fine in PR for me. Installing the Saitek drivers can sometimes be a massive hassle and often requires you to manually add the driver via the device manager, but when they're installed it should all be good to go.

Thanks for the heads up saXoni! I'll get the profile built in the X52 Pro's software and give 'er a try in my training server soon. Will post my experiences here post haste. I intended to try it out the other day, but my day job and other tasks relating to getting the Death Dealers Squad website and servers going took priority.

I have an X52 and never had any issues with BF2/PR.

I can now confirm that the X52 works beautifully with PR. The joystick had less resistance than I would prefer, so I increased spring tension by using a disc of plastic to compress the spring more to get an increase in tension.

Yes the X-52 Pro works fully with PR. Even the MFD is programmed to work with it (very few games are but AncientMan has one as well as I, and decided to have a go at coding it to work with PR, so it shows map cords etc on the screen, and even the lights will only turn on once you enter a jet/chopper etc
But you may want to turn these features off since they are buggy sometimes (its to do with Saiteks software, not our code, Saitek/MadCats can't do software/drivers

)
To do this, go into:
\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\mods\pr_repo_edit\settings\external\x52pro\
And edit the settings.ini with a text editor like notepad, and just change the enable parts from 1 to 0, to turn them off. IMO its worth turning all the Lights, MFD and the Profile to ensure it works well. But only do this if you run into issues.

Pretty much everyone does this

Thanks for the info Rhino! However, my MFD doesn't display all that information. Maybe I didn't turn something on that I needed to. Also, in the path you posted, did you mean:
...[snip].../mods/pr/settings...[snip].. ?
I'll take a look around in the installation folders and see what I can find out about these external settings and how to get my MFD to display them.
Cheers and thanks again for the feedback and info!

Ye sorry, pr_repo_edit is my working copy of the mod
As for your MFD, it will only work when you're inside a jet/chopper and are you sure you have the Pro version of the X52? The normal version won't have a working MFD. And naturally, you need it turned on in those settings mentioned above, but they should be on by default.
