Automatic Rifleman Kit not spawnable???

Hello everyone. I am a new player just getting into the game. I'm playing on coop to get practice in with the general mechanics and such, so maybe this has to do with coop settings.
I read in the manual that the Automatic Rifleman Kit is under the Spawnable-Infantry section, and appears to be unlimited. This is the class I want to play, as I am best at a suppression support role. It is both what I am most effective with, and what is the most fun for me.
However, when I was playing, I could not spawn with the kit. It said that it was limited. I tried asking about it in the game and no one answered. I don't know how to get this kit, and I'm confused as to why it's limited in-game but "spawnable" in the manual. Did something change and the manual isn't kept up? Or is it just a coop setting? Maybe just that particular server.
I'm not sure. Either way, I want to play the Automatic Rifleman and get good at it to suppress ******* for my team xD. How do I equip the kit?

Coop is different from real game. AR is available only one per squad. Also, if it's selected by someone in squad, you won't be able to spawn.
Remember, you are rifleman first, then something second.

Ah darn. Not a huge fan of the semi-auto rifle. I mean it's alright, but I much prefer the auto. But thanks for the info anyway : ). At least I know I'm not insane / missing something obvious.

You need to be in a squad of at least four players to get it. Other kit limitations are as follows:
-Rifleman, Crewman, Pilot: without any restrictions, though the latter two are only used in asset squads, for digging or to get 1337 CQB skills as MEC
-Officer: Only COs and Squad Leaders of squads of at least 2 players
-Medic: unlimited for a team, requestable in squads of at least 2 at a total of 2
-Anti-Tank: 1 per team and at at least 3 players in your squad
-Sniper: 2 per team, 2 within one squad at 3 players in your squad
-Anti-Air, Combat Engineer, Spotter: 2 per team, 1 kit may be used in a 3+ player squad
-Breacher, Automatic Rifleman: unlimited for a team, 1 kit requestable in 4+ player squads
-Rifleman AP/AT: team-wide restriction to 8 kits in total(not sure about AP tbh), 1 kit requestable for a 4+ player squad
-Grenadier, Marksman: Restriction to 4 kits per team, one may be requested in a 6+ player squad
-Machine Gunner: 2(?) per team, 1 per squad of 6+ players
This applies to all factions in the game but the Iraqi Insurgents.

Rifles can have their fire selectors switched if you press the selected weapon twice.(for example, M16A4 is on 3, press 3 two times to change from semi-auto to 3-round-burst.
Not sure if COOP vs DEPLOYMENT is different, but like said above, if in MP, you need 4 people to grab the kit, and then there can only be one per squad.

Indeed, you are not stuck to semi-auto mode. Please read manual, most of your information gaps and questions can be answered there.
