Hello.


I tried playing a bit in APC squad. I've seen that there are many types of them for ex. on Muttrah for MEC there are MTLBs, BTR, Skorpion, and something someone reffered as "Beast". And other types for other sides like APC, LAV, Stryker, Bradley.
Im looking for a guide, a tutorial or something describing each of them, so i can get to know each of them, what they can do and what they can't.
Also seeing on the asset list the more complicated names without knowing what each of them is, is kinda confusing, so im looking for information about every of them.

Most of time all of the "APC" family use . AP (armor) Round HEAT (Inf) Round and Sometimes ATGM (Tow like missle)

RAM/RS = 'Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability/Rebuild to Standard'

Nicknames:
Shitbox = MTLB, sometimes applies for the M113
Beast = Any vehicle with a 2A72/42 30mm gun, usually the BTR-80A or Skropiconocn

Then we seperate the 'APC' into two general categories: IFV and APC.
APC is good at transporting infantry but is weak in general at other things.
IFV is bad at transporting infantry(usually can just do a fireteam), but generally has a larger amount of armaments and sometimes more protection.

APC: AAVP RAMRS(A, 40, 12.7), MTLB(A, 7.62), MTLBVM(A, 12.7), M113(A, 12.7), BTR-60(A, 14.5, 7.62), BTR-80(A, 14.5, 7.62), VAB(12.7), Namer(12.7), Boxer(12.7), Fuchs(7.62).. ok im tired.

IFV: LAV-25(A, 25, 7.62), M113AACV(12.7, 7.62),

nevermind this is taking too long, just ask if you have any particular questions on some vehicles.
many times you can just refer to the icons of them on the asset page to find out what their purpose is.

None of these really substitute just trying them out on a local server though, nor do these list gives the nicknames the community have given them.

The beast is usually used to refer specifically to the MT-LB with the 30mm turret.

Thanks QuickLoad and camo! You have enlighten me some more, and that 1st link from camo is pretty useful aswell. I'll research some more and i'll come back and ask any questions if i have any.

The M113 is the Shitbox, and the 30mm MTLB is the Beast.

I still see people calling the 80a a beast and the MTLB a shitbox
