was gona test out the new update. joined H and played for about a minute...mumble wasnt working right. i alt tab'd and tried to change some things...now all i do is CTD the moment i double click a server to join.

any idea guys?

just reinstalled pr and still crash...now it crashes the second i get passed the loading screen.

Thanks for the report. You are not the only one with this issue. We plan a hotfix soon to fix this.

Can confirm, loads of people I play with were experiencing CTDs all the time today. Hopefully this can get fixed.

after download the patch 1.4 my game crashes all the time just trying to join a server, need help please!

love the new map gaza but everytime i play it and get to bombed alley it crashes. opened the map left it open too see if it crashed nothing happens then i go to play enter the city boom crash did it 3 time everytime i enter bombed alley crash. btw i put a fob up in gaza it was missing the metal rods that hold the fob it was just sand on the buttom and the camo on top nothing in the middle and no metal rods hope you guys can fix it really wanna enjoy gaza best wishes thank you

HOW TO STOP CTDS (v1.4.0.0):

GO to Documents > Project Reality > Profiles > 0001 (the profile you want to fix)
Right click on "Video.con" and click on Properties > Select "READ-ONLY" > Click APPLY > Click OK
Open your Launcher and have fun!

PS: Deselect "READ-ONLY" when next patch is out!

Hell I was just changing some settings and PR crashed. This update is bringing frequent CTDs to a whole new level.

I'll give that a try later tonight danesh and post my results. Thanks for your post.

did the read only thing on video .con file still crashing

Just a note: I was able to play fine when I created a local deployment server but as soon as I join an online deployment server I experience this issue.

for me putting read-only seems to work so far!! Thanks

Setting video.con to read only seemed to have solved the problem for me.

For some reason, PR (BF2 thing probably) change the TerrainQuality on the Video.con during middlegame. PR dont allow you to change that settings and resulting to close your game. So, when you select to ready only, the file cant be modified and your game will not close by TerrainQuality problem.

Good job on finding the fix for it. It has worked perfectly for me.
