[CENTER]First of all ..I don't know if this is the right place for this post, if not..move it please. Since some of us want a couple of changes for the Project Reality sounds (but there's not dev's working on sounds at the moment and we don't have high expectations on major changes to sounds in the near future).. so I'm here to bring you a excellent program to do a couple of tweaks to our audio.

The program we are going to use is called: Realtek.

What is Realtek?

Realtek is an semiconductor firm based in Taiwan. They are well known for the manufacturing of low cost ICs for Audio, Ethernet, and Wifi. Realtek's audio chips follow the industry standard AC-97 specifications established by Intel back in 1997, which helped to make basic PC audio a fairly generic thing.

Here are the steps:

First we're gonna Download & Install the program Realtek: LINK  Realtek

In downloads, we are going to make sure to click on: High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)
Image

Choose your Windows either 64bits or 32bits you have, click global to download.

After you have installed realtek, let's now go to the playback device and click properties (Realtek One):

Make sure the Realtek device is enabled.

Let's go to levels and put everything as seen in the picture, (Rear/Front Pink in) Needs to be 0 or muted.

Now in advanced, we will select the best quality we have in my case will be 24 bit, 96000Hz (Studio Quality)
Image
Make sure you also have the audio quality in High in the audio options in PR.launcher
Image

Drag the audio effects to 100% & Music to 10% and your speakers to 50% so it will not sound so Loud.

This method made a huge change in my audio in general. Hope you like! :D

Put ingame Effects volume to 100% and bring it down to 20 in the windows volume mixer instead, as some very quiet sounds might get cut out if the game is on low percentage.

Either way you have to balance Effects and mumble or, as many, you will not hear mumble in vehicles. I put my effects right down.

I have set the various sound options when I next play I will see.

I thought the best way was a sound card and a better headphone.

Edited.

I also want to say, do not have any fear when trying these steps. Since the objective of this is to have a better quality in our audio. This also helps to listen to sounds that are heard very low before and strong sounds can be now heard more balanced in Project Reality. :)

Any inconvenience you have just need to uninstall the Program & everything will return to normal.

Best for PR is Creative X-Fi and Ultra High, you have no idea what you're missing. I'd never use "Software" because even without a dedicated soundcard it (at least used to) sound much worse than "Hardware" option.

As far as volume goes - % don't matter because everyone's setup is different. Do yourself a favour and install this program, then under options make it control "Active application". This way you're only controlling PR's volume while Mumble, TS3 etc. stay the same.

You are enabling multiple effects in Realtek, but not selecting any settings for them. Best to leave all of that garbage disabled.

Realtek is commonly installed by default on Intel motherboards, btw.

It does automatically when you install the program.

Make sure your speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio One) are as the default device.

Nice guide, but i think the bigger problem is when we are inside the vihicles, the sound there is way too much. It's still a game so i think they should balance be sound with the outside enviorment and the inside's vehicle.

Yea vehicles are a problem.

People can't enjoy the sound effects because that. Everyone plays with the audio at 10%.

Realtek audio software is not compatible with wireless headphones that use a USB receiver.

Honestly, don't bother. Just use the best hardware you can afford.

Necro-Revive.

I installed the software, downloaded for my OS (64bit). When I go to plaback devices, all I see is "Speakers, VIA High Definition Audio, Default Device" and "SPDIF Interface (TX0), VIA High Definition Audio". no Realtek as per your picture.

Computer: ASUS G75-VW.

You may want to lower the game output volume a little in favor of having a customized equalizer.

Can confirm. Creative X-Fi is sick. I recently upgraded though. Anybody had any luck running it under windows 10 ?
