Im Glad that they have released this Retro pack with 21 old maps .
something that i was reqesting for long long time .

but my question why not to make it AUTO update .
And everyone and all server could play it in normal rotation .

i understand there a small maps that could be super duper great for seeding or late games when server is diying .

I second that. It's only 1 gig od DL. Maybe give it as an optional upload when the launcher checks the version of the game with the "dont' show this again" tickbox.

because back in retro days, there was no auto update...

so we gotta keep it as authentic as possible, with files being released to be manually installed
it's a great feeling, we want to relive the past...

Then remove the installer too . Back in retro days you had to extract the files.

nah, the reason (I believe) we don't include those as part of the core maps, it is because those maps are not up to PR standards, so they have to be as mappacks...

but they can be a lot of fun... I love to see such old maps back, the good memories they bring, so awesome...

Yeah I agree, they are fun to play for a limited time but if they become a regular thing it would kinda feel off track.

yeah, it's only been 11 years, so, yeah, PR has changed a lot, and that counts its standards...

and most old players will feel nostalgic when playing such maps, at least I do...

half of the maps are shit .

this map is not a retail sell game . its a mod .

and its will be bleed to death with 24/7 muttrah .
we need that variation of maps

here are the maps that meets PR standards: PR Map Gallery

there are already 50 there...

and if you can't see the difference between those maps, and the mappacks we release, there is nothing I can do for you...

Honestly, I don't know about everyone else. But I would love to see these maps in the main branch. Sure some are a bit old. But the community will only play the good ones anyways.

sure it would be great to have as many maps as possible in the main core, but there is a problem, the size is limited AFAIK... we just can't keep adding more and more maps to the main core without removing some, so we need to make choices and sacrifices... that's when mappacks come in from time to time...

well, but at least we can have them... after they are uptaded and made compatible with the most current PR version...

finally, I don't see reasons to complain, it's a lot of effort by the team to put all this up together and working...

I've never heard the anyone say that size is limited. Im not asking for you guys to add every map, but maybe the top 5 maps

Yeah but most people don't read these forums, and some of the people that do are still to dumb to figure out how to do it.

we can have a vote .

and we can see if people want this maps to enter to core rotation or not .
