=HOG= server, 4/23/17, 5:30 PM PST. I was wounded, but had black screen saying, "You are wounded. To spawn, select point and press done."
I COULD NOT RESPAWN.
I could choose a spawn point, but it wouldn't allow me to spawn there.
I did, however, get a medic to revive me once.
I did not have the bloodied screen with the pounding heart and ability to call for a medic in commo rose.

It's a vBF2 bug, happens when the player receives too much damage, like from multiple guns at once. Did you have no icon in the squad menu?

If you waited for a minute, you would be in a dead-dead state to skip the bugged dead-wounded state.

Might be fixable somehow.

shot so hard he couldn't respawn

If you are talking about trying to spawn on a FOB, yeah it's a bug. Just continue to try and spawn and you'll eventually spawn. It happens when there's enemy nearby but not close enough to overrun the fob apparently.

Best way to spawn on a difficult fob is to select it and spam the enter key - and i'm pretty sure it's caused by being in difficult/tight spots with not much space around them. Can happen more often if it's a tight dogbox and some guy spawns and afks,

Well, There's a couple of situations where the player can't respawn.

Dying when at the same time you are attaching/detaching a ladder. There is no Blood or Black screen, you can't give up and can't spawn. In that situation most people ask an admin to use !kill on you to fix the issue.

Falling down a cliff, been a while since I saw that one, but sometime when people would fall a cliff they would enter the same state as the ladder (No Blood or Black screen, you can't give up and can't spawn.), Same deal here ask an admin to use !kill on you.

You have a black screen and give up but the FOB/Rally that you are selection don't allow you to spawn. in that case spam ENTER and someday it will allow you to spawn there. (The fob got built in some in a location where it's hard to find spawn location near by. Exemple: In a tree on a cliff on Korengal.)

The most common issue as a server admin. People not clicking the Done button.

And then there's a weird one that I'm trying to get more information and attempt to replicate since v1.4.0.
People dying with a clear screen no give up. Admins can't !kill them, I ask them what happened to investigate, they don't answer and leave the server. To fix that one is first tell me how to replicate and then rejoin the server.

I've had this happen a couple of times, if it happens again I'll try to remember to save the shadowplay and forward it to you

my 90% fix for this:
click on a place on the map that isn't a spawnpoint, it will deselect any spawn points you are currently using.
then select your desired spawn point,
do not press enter, but instead click done

works 95% of the time, now.
