PRTA has set up a separate legacy server that plays Vietnam, Falklands and all the legacy old maps. The tragic thing is that whenever the server runs maps that are not Falkland or Vietnam the server population dies as no one has downloaded the map pack and people get dropped.
I really would like to play on new maps and I hear people here talking about wanting new or different maps as the current playcycle bores them. I don't really understand why supposed lovers of this game have not pulled finger to get the maps and install them.

How hard can it be?

If you want people to not crash out when setting the mappack maps. Just run a server dedicated to the mappack instead of vPR and RMP maps.

Seeding on Fallujah also does not help. If you run a server for Falklands, Vietnam and the custom map pack, seed on one of those maps.

Need to include mappacks in next patch so everyone will have them.
Need to allow all servers to have mixed maplist (original maps + retro maps) without password.

It is allowed.

I just dont see why the devs have not made it part of the based game, there are some amazing maps that would add quite some diversity to the server listing for servers to pick from
