The ERYX has a max range of 600m (IRL), other than that it's a great HAT kit.

"Wire Guided Missiles" actually have a wire trailing out behind the missile, and that wire has a max length, in the case of the ERYX, its 600m long. After that distance, the cable breaks off the missile and is no longer controllable.

Think how heavy just 600m of wire is.
These missiles are not capable of just "going in a straight line", The older ones probably don't even contain any kind of computer onboard or gyros.
The Eryx missile uses a SACLOS guidance system, the launcher tracks a light source on the rear of the missile and compares its position with the center of the launcher's cross-hair, sending corrective signals down a trailing control wire.

Happens all the time.
IRL ATGMs(especially older ones) are not pinpoint accurate either.
