Why do you keep playing PR after all this time?

Why?
Myself, I'm a hopeless romantic who's trying to relive and recapture the glory days of the old PR.

"How many posts have there been about how much better PR was back in 0.X? The fact is that if we played the older versions we would start to remember the shortcomings, but we tend to hold onto the good memories tighter than the bad ones." - Murphy

my favorite game
no game ties teamwork with gameplay like this one.
and no game ties the community with teamwork so well, either.

No other game offers the same depth, varied combat/gameplay and teamwork.

While being here only for about three years or so, I need to say that I have yet to meet another game with the level of teamwork which is (mostly) present in PR. The simple fact that while in other games when you get shoot at from behind there is now way to tell the guy right next to you to turn around and help you, or to warn him there is an enemy camping the entrance, in PR you just simply tell him and he will survive, this makes this game so much more enjoyable and interesting. The fact in most rounds of PR the whole team (50 people!!) coordinates in achieving the common interest (at least a liitle bit) is also unparralled. Also (maybe apart from Arma and Battlefield series, havent played that) the combined arms thing (ground inf marks targets and calls CAS) is something I havent met in other games (not at this level at least). These small details like that PR runs acceptably on even older or weaker PC's, do I need to even mention these?

Even though there are annoyances and bad shit, bugs, server crashes, annoying and bad people, there is always something that brings me back, and its definitively the good people. The squad system brings people together, and as a mod that really expanded on that it has become something very special. Just being able to make a squad, and being a little strict with them, and have it fill up with 6-7 good, fun players is fantastic. Playing with friends is great too, but most games allow that.

Teamwork and Dutch Armed Forces.
On a serious note. This is the only game I know where tactics, combined warfare and good teamwork come toghether which makes gameplay great. Also, this game has so much content. Just think of all the factions PR has with all the different vehicles and weapons, that is just amazing. Another good reason for me is that I enjoy modding a lot and that I can improve the game by adding new content.

Believe me, you do not. Take it from a guy fighting stage-3 neurofibrosarcoma.
About topic. I played PR back in 2009-2010 or so, then quit because of BF:BC2 which was also awesome game.
Now coming back, because latest Battlefield series games look like dead end (BF1).. I wish other BF games had such a teamwork and many of the features of in PR are unique. Local chat for example, I can't honestly get why DICE has not introduced something like this, instead of having players stuck on typing for the "team chat".

No other game has the rush PR can bring, during intense firefights and sneaking up on the enemy....
Also the team work that can be found within this game is amazing.
I myself would say I am addicted to Project Reality....
Even if i have a day where i am getting slaughtered... i'll get off for lets say, a round or twos time & start back up.
Best game I've ever played... Can't remember exactly when i started... but i want to say it was in the early .90's stage of this game, I've been playing it for along time with no intentions on stopping.

Teamwork, teamwork and Refractor 2 engine (I don't know how, but every game on this engine is pure gold). So far this is only game where I can see a real teamwork.
