Any plans on stoping the "Smoke the APC" tactic,or only bluefor factions can have thermals and use this?

Wait, So you peaked an APC sitting in smoke watching you on thermals and thought it was a good idea?

This really has nothing to do with opfor vs bluefor BS, this more has to do with a gamey tactics, that I personally don't like when its eploited to the full potential that some do. Got a LAV and want to pop your smoke and shoot at the BTR-80A from it? Fine. In a stryker and crest into an RPG hotspot? Pop smoke and engage away. Sitting in one spot on muttrah(any maps really) and having a driver who's sole purpose in life is throwing smoke grenades for 5 minutes straight? You're a pussy and should go play a single player game.

Basically I'm fine with it when it's used as a temporary aid, but not when its relied on as the sole way to get kills. Yes I know there are things you can do to counter it, flank, don't expose, shoot in the smoke with a hat/apc and kill it, been there, done that but its not a fun tactic for either side involved.

boring as hell for the driver not to mention dangerous as hell.
your first two examples are fine and even the third one is fine, as long as the APC is doing it for the team.

if they're doing it for kills then they should(regardless of throwing smoke on apc or playing infantry or playing cas) play a single player game.

like, on gaza, there's many times when you have trouble pushing into town and need to have tanks/apcs smoked up and provide long term fire support

What's so dangerous about it? Jump out, request medic, pop 1 smoke, jump back in and again - out, pop smoke, in. And repeat until there's enough smoke to cover the vehicle. You don't even have to move around the vehicle - all smokes can be popped by standing in the relative cover near the back doors of the vehicle.

As for the topic - basically as chrisweb said. Actually I've never seen anyone really *abusing* this tactic in a way that makes them more annoying and invincible than say a hydra huey on Muttrah in those PR versions where AA did jack to choppers.

jump out, get shot by a sniper

it's all situational, and it is ALWAYS dangerous for the crew to leave the vehicle

Nah.
I creep over the hill top on Dragon Fly,just to find a warrior in smoke.
Shot a lat.Surprise.it missed.
I can live with alt lat with less penetration that it should have.No problem.
Sh***y hat.No problem.
But it started to affect other apc that should have thermals like bmp-3,bmp-2...
Opfor is getting less and less fun.

Both the BMP2 AND the BMP3 are ALWAYS better than their counterpart. Thermals or not, those vehicles are VERY effective. If you die to a LAV with any of them, then you are doing something wrong imo.

Blaming the player for exploiting a mechanic to his advantage is a fallacy imo. I don't like seeing that mechanic exploited either. But of course a vehicle operator will use any means he can to ensure the safety of his vehicle, you can't really blame him for that.

Camping APC's in smoke and that over minutes in the same area. Where was the MEC mortars?

You get only rid of the smoked APC with mortars. That is one counter tactic.

There's always an APC squad.Mortars happen only in few games.

Would it be possible to make the outline of the armoured vehicle visible through the smoke just a bit?

This only works vs idiots, a proper crew would be listening for you and start shooting at 5s, you wouldn't even get to them before dying.
