Why no zoom?

Post by mebel »

Why looking down the ironsights doesn't give a bit narrower fov? For me and maybe others scopes are OP in PR.

When you look down Iron sights IRL, do you get zoom?

If iron sights had zoom they would be useless in CQB. The whole point is that you have a better field of view. I pick iron sight kits with most factions on purpose even if there are scopes available because they are more useful at the average PR engagement range.

Yes.

If only there was a way to account for both sides..... like, you just press a button and it allows you to sight in your rifle zoomed in.

I would wager that even on the average PR engagement distance of 50-100m scopes are more useful, case and point being the last two PRTs. Though Fool's Road has relatively large engagement distances for a forest map, Kozelsk is a different story and even there it was a convincing victory for the scoped Russians.
VTRaptor: but i only stopped for less than 10 secs and that fucking awesome dude put 2 of them

]CIA[ SwampFox: well my definition of glitching is using an enemy kit to kill the enemy

Just_Dave: i have a list about PR players, and they r categorized by their skill

Para: You sir are an arse and not what the game or our community needs.

AlonTavor: Is that a German trying to make me concentrate?

Heavy Death: join PRTA instead - Teamwork is a must there.

Both fools and kozelsk are against unarmored militia which changes the picture a lot.

No, but you can focus your eyes, something hard to do with a low number of pixels.

I agree with OP. Not as much as the original BF2, I really want a little magnification when zoom-in at least x0.2573219850...

It is a good idea and I don't know why devs didn't embed it in game! it must be embedded few years ago. guys it is not zoom it is kinda focusing/concentrating on iron sight and it is matching real life. just try it at home you will understand ( you can do it by anything like your hand as a gun :D ). it is like approaching your eye to iron sight and it makes a noticeable difference. you know if I remember it right ( or maybe it was a dream ) I watched a video about it I don't know if it was made by devs or just a fan.
by the way , PR devs don't like you to suggest anyhting that they don't want to do whether it makes sense or not.

i got a feeling like half of people who commenting here are other thinking people

when you look down the iron sight IRL . you get zoom not digital zoom but a focus zoom .
you see more details when you focus on smaller area in the distance .

something that PR fail hardly .
when you play on 1920 x 1080 and you aim down the sight its remain same pixels . there is no focus factor .

try to join army . and you will see the differents

Like above - maybe you don't get a plain zoom but the focus factor is a key here.

Like always... there's something IRL which isn't represented in the game. But is it supposed to be represented? For example, if you run a lot in a short period of time it makes you tired. If you're tired, you can't run a lot. And more tired you are, less running you can do. Join army and check it yourself.

Slightest zoom won't ruin anything I think. Like 1.10-1.05 would be okay.

Personally, I dont want any kind of zoom there. Just leave it as it is. Ironsights are supposed to be without zoom.

Exactly. Nobody has zoom on ironsights, it's the same for everyone, so enjoy and play PR.

You know. When you hug those 50 cal. handles, you feel it's mass, facture, you doff this button in the middle, stroke the gun on the ridge - you just began to feel so comfy, relaxed and focused that actually you can have zoom in your eyes then. It's a big gun.

unlike most shoulder fired weapons the m2hb is fired while leaning backwards usually, though you can lean forwards(and bring iron sights closer to your face) and i think this must be what the game emulates.

there isn't really zoom to it either, more like different stance

The zoom on those is higher than what is suggested in this thread for handheld ironsight weapons.
