After update: Getting Critical Error immediately when starting game saying: 40:Keyerror
(Using WinXP still)
Cannot play anymore

Hello! I have same problem 40: Keyerror Win 7 64. Its after last appdate 4.18

on xp myself, i no longer get the keyerror.
However with 1.4.19 when I start the game the screen goes black like its starting then closes and i get the error:
"1103: There was an error linking to the game process. Please try again"

I try use updater but updater.exe ask louncher.
Reinstall game, its help update 4.19.

Im having the same issue with a Windows 10, used to play PR just fine before the update.
Is there any way to do a manual update? I think we cant use the launcher to update.

Please make sure you are running PRUpdater as admin. If that also does not help, please try downloading the patch manually
here, put it next to your PRUpdater.exe and launch the updater with
Code: Select all
+applyPatches prbf2_1.4.18.0_to_1.4.19.0_client_patch.prpatch

Thanks so much for the help, but same here. Also get the 1103 error after manually updating.
Could reinstalling the game help here?
(Still running WinXP)

I might know why this happens, but cannot confirm as I have no access to any WinXp. Can one of you test it? You would need to rename your pr folder to "pr_edit" then install the updated file:

Make sure to backup the original file before or you wont be able to update later on
You will not be able to play online with this, but we will be a step closer to making new patch that fixes this

Yeah the test worked! It is loading up to the game menu.

After running the test I tried to roll back to normal (rename pr_edit-->pr and copying orig file back to folder)
When finished, this happened:
1312 Fehler beim Verifizieren der Integrität folgender Datei:
...\bin\Reality.BF2.dll
Dies könnte durch unauthorisierte Dateiänderungen, Festplattenfehler, oder Dateiberechtigungsfehler verursacht sein.
