Budget replacement "on-ear" mono headset (USB) for team-communication

I've always enjoyed going that extra mile when playing Project Reality, that is with my speakers turned up, while having a separate headset for communication (which makes for some realistic background noise when in use) but I never got around of asking if there are any good replacements out there for my long lost Logitech PC 960?
All I'm looking for is a budget replacement (currently using my main QH-90 headset, but it just doesn't feel the same and it also blocks a lot of audio from my speakers due to it being "over-ear") that doesn't cheap out on the volume or weigh a ton, comes with a +1.5m cable, adjustable microphone and doesn't break my $25 budget.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
