[1.5] "Updated settings to now force EAX if it is available."

I've already mentioned this in the changelog thread, but this is probably a better place for it.

With my sound card (Creative X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB) EAX makes the entire game environment sound like a huge bathroom, which makes it almost unplayable.

I don't know why the EAX option was removed from the launcher, but I'd love to have it back. At least being able to edit the configuration file accordingly would be nice, right now changes to the EAX option are overwritten by the launcher.

Are you using Ultra sound settings by any chance?

Thanks, lowering the audio quality to "High" fixed the issue. I have to admit I had never tried that since everything worked fine without EAX.

From my experience there are lots of small issues with Ultra. E.g. when I used it I kept hearing someone pulling a grenade pin even though no one was close. That was kind of unsettling :D

Interesting, I also experienced that once, but I thought it was just an unusual flavor of the usual sound bug, and it never happened again. My squad probably thought I was hallucinating when I shouted a grenade warning. :D
