A lot of people don't have it because it doesn't happen on a lot of NVidia GPUs, being at extremely low health, not being able to hear much and not being able to sprint is punishing enough. I say just remove it, makes the game a little bit more fair.

Yea, I agree. I was planning to start a thread internally regarding this a few months back and forgot about it.

Yup, don't see the point of it anymore since it doesn't work as intended and GPUs are getting more modern and people are catching up with the latest hardware even in third world countries.

AFAIK black screen is only missing when you have nvidia GPU and in-game anti-aliasing enabled.

I've switched from Radeon 7790 into GTX 1060 few months ago. The black&white screen was applying to radeon, but not for my new gpu. It wasn't too annoying, but i feel the advantage of having nvidia graphic card.

Maybe replace it with the bleeding effect, only more frequent.

It is not link to GPU , but to the couple of GPU + driver.

For example, on my GT650 with 331 driver, no effect. With the 381 driver, i have the effect.

I guess they mean the black and white when youre almost bled out.

maybe it is to symbolize when you are about to lose consciousness due to blood loss

This effect is good and there are logical explanations for it. When you're at the end of the energy it's logical that you can not use weapons (that means the trunk would turn off the weapon use option). This would be avoided using this effect. So you can save yourself, but you are not in full form for battle.
