To be honest that would be pretty neat, WW1 wasn't just about stalemates and static frontlines, there were more than 10 active fronts in the war, and not just trench warfare, urban combat, combat inside tunnel networks, combat in dense wooded forests, beachheads, combat inside small trenches and foxholes, and there is also enough variety in weaponry if you don't count smgs, assault rifles and semi auto rifles.

I just imagine trying to hold a building with bolt action rifles in the Italian front agaisnt waves of Autrians rushing for your squad.

We all dream of it, yet nobody wants to do it (for x reasons).

You mean waves of Italians attacking up mountains against Austrians and losing most of the time :^)
