By default, BF2 locks framerate to 100fps. How do you unlock the framerate?

I looked into the profile video config file but didn't find anything related to this.

So I found out how to do it.
I go in game, open the console and type the command "game.lockfps 0"

My new question is, is it fine to use this on the servers?

Also, would it possible to include this by default or option in the launcher?
