Magic is still happening for BF2 even in 2020! (Bots suppressed!)

I suggested this a few months ago on these forums and some modders already got it working:
- Suppression working on bots:

Discuss for PR's implementation of the tec...
PS:
Just add
weaponTemplate.isThrown 1
weaponTemplate.setExplosionRadius 10.0
to your weapon's AI template and enjoy the magic.
The bots are not suppresed, they just think your gun's bullets are handgrenades, so they run away from them.

So, this happens all the time, and no matter what, shooting a 9mm in the general direction of a bot is gonna cause them to flee? Like, there's no chance for a bot to be brave with this method, no morale offset, or even range limitation? Just shoot at them and they run?

It's already in for v1.6

Applies to MG and AT, though not sniper rifles.
iirc SERPIKO and the BF2:SP community were the first to discover it:

Will add it for sniper rifles.

You can set the range through the radius. So each bullet that lands has a radius in the form of a circle, and if a bot happens to be in the defined radius, then they will flee.

Thanks for the info Arab!
As everyone here I can't wait for 1.6
So many improvements in so many departments. No wonder why it is taking so long.
People tend to believe that 1.6 is only about WW2 when in fact it is one of the biggest general improvement patches in the last decade of PR.
I hope you guys ease a little bit on the server hosting restrictions too.
Keep the revolution going!

Thank you for the clarification, Arab. Was a bit concerned that it might be OP, seems just fine if it's hit based with adjustable radius. Cheers!

Why? Which restrictions in particular?

The part where I must apply and request the dedicated server files.
I host a huge LAN but have to rely on the buggy and featureless regular HOST server instead of the much better Dedicated Server because of those restrictions.

There are almost no restrictions on passworded servers. There are zero on non-Internet servers. Just apply and say you want a LAN-only server as a special case and we'll accept right away.

I will do that! Thank you!
PS: As soon as 1.6 is released

Glad to hear you're cool with the process after all. Those restrictions are place for a reason, the word "shitshow" comes to mind. Hope you and your LAN friends have some great fun now that you can host PR proper now. (Any questions on that front, make a post and most of us will be glad to help out with tips, config questions, etc.).
Cheers!
