BF2Editor closes after mod selected

10 seconds after I press OK the program just closes itself, no error, no text of any kind, it just closes.

I used this https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14468 to manually install it

step 5 not followed because its says its not required

There was an issue with it about a year ago. It was related with one of windows 10 updates. You use windows 10 I guess?

A Windows 10 update back in 2018 broke the editor for a bunch of people, the thread was this one. Arab mentioned this fix:

Though I never tested it, but you can try to see if it works for you.

When you start the BF2 Editor it ask you which mod you select, Right?
After selecting the mod, at the bottom, is there a line in red. Can you see a line in red with conicalatt?

Yeah, I select pr_edit and press ok, then 10 seconds later it just closes no red line no nothing.

When you selected the mod no red and black lines occuring in the Editor Output window?
Strange ....
Can you make a short Clip of your Editor start?

Maybe it's worth a shot:

Copy the common_client and common_server.zip into the Objects Folder but dont unpack it.

But yeah, from the screenshot it looks like it's set up correctly...

Okay, perhaps Im blind since apparently I read your logs wrong. According to the logs, I think something is wrong with the bf2editor directory. Could you make a screenshot of all the folders in the following directory:

[your_path_to_PR]\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2
Or can also download teamviewer, it would make it easier for me to see what happened with the files it's trying to find.

Could try also downloading DirectX9 and installing it again.

Try using this version of PREditor (BF2Editor v1.3):

Extract all files to Project Reality BF2 root folder.

My Question is, why his Editor not reading the part my Editor reads.
Is it maybe really the Directx? I run the Editor also on win10 and never got those problems and the windows10 creator update also never caused problems on my machine.

Some questions to BIO
What Kind of Videocard you have?
Maybe a 3rd party program that runs in background influences the Editor?
Virtual machines?
Windows Aero mode?
Compartir Vista? / My runs on Windows XP Service Pack 2.
I also heared once splitscreen can cause problems with the Editor.

GTX 1050TI
I had no other programs running, no virtual machine. I also tried to start the editor from a fresh windows restart(not a format, just restart).
The only program running on the taskbar is OBS to record the video, everything else are just windows icons.
No idea about aero mode
