Until the devs seem to have abandoned the game. Update 1.6 has been promised for over 2 years.

I mean, it's difficult to get people to stay when everyone is elitist and dicks to new players. And people hated Bluedrake away.. So We deserve this :(

IMHO it starts with players who still like to play PR choosing to not play with unknown players, which is realistically understandable but not self serving. When we were all new, everyone playing was unknown to us. We met people, made friends, and form squads, clans, groups, etc. We got taught and taught each other, and rose up to a higher level matching those we met when we were new ourselves.

But those who stop there, and don't fold in new players and keep finding new friends, walling themselves off by their station or like Wicca said "elitist" and not welcoming to new players, or perhaps treating inexperienced players as bad players rather than as we were when we were new, are gonna experience the "death" of PR long before any actual end, and while many of us are still playing the game, hosting events, and folding in new players and new friends as we always did.

Nothing lasts forever, the draw of new-and-shiny is strong, and games are getting so good that plenty of people don't even consider playing PC games with anything but newer generation graphics, etc. - but those of us who know better favor good game modes/systems and options, Project Reality and even 7 Days to Die being obvious examples of this.

I think if we give up on making our favorite game(s) better, if we're a Dev type, or if we give up on meeting new people and passing on the "knowledge", and only choose to join a server if we see a name or names we know, we would be the ones who suffer, and eventually causing the player base as a whole to suffer. And with each person that does this, it compounds with the standard player who knows very few people but chooses to not join a server simply because it has few players of any sort, friends or not.

Like a chicken and the egg thing: Good server has few/no players because players not joining due to the good server having few/no players. Rinse and repeat.

I dont really remember if i played with Skinner but i played with Ruiz and Scooby and had always a blast with them. I asked Ruiz everytime if he could reserve a slot for me in his squad next round. He's amazing squadlead.

A lot of people that stopped playing said something along the lines of "we'll wait for 1.6". im one of those. Rarely play anymore waiting for 1.6. That being said theres also, in my eyes, a lack of communication from the devs. Last update post has been over a year ago at this point. When people ask they keep getting sent to a post from 2017. While I understand the devs work on this in their own free time, a bit more of communication on the forums doesnt hurt anyone. Doesnt have to be weekly, or even monthly. But a year without a proper update post is too long. Hell, even if the devs got nothing done in a certain timeframe. Post that too. Better to have some form of communication than none.

Except that pr ww2 should have released in jan of 2015. If id had it still would have been in a better position than vietnam was in when it released.

Even if PR-DEV narrative about bluedrake is fully true, which i doubt, they fucked up by driving him away with vitriol. Imagine having a one man PR department that brings in more than half the people into your obscure mod advertising the game very effectively all on its own. And just because he sperged out and shared confidential info (supposedly) you not only cut him off but talk shit and bully him behind the scenes.

When all you had to do in response is issue a friendly correction, ask him to refrain from similar things in the future and maybe limit his access. Like maybe assign him a wrangler or something if you really think he is such a troublemaker. Any sane person could see that this would have been the best possible course for the community and the future of the game.

So, Bluedrake is also the future of PR? Why, explain me please.
AFAIK, he never worked in the DevTeam. I thought the whole time the DEV's are the future of Project Reality aslong they working on it.

1. He never codded/scripted like Alon or Arab or Mosquill or BadSanta.
2. He never created something in 3ds max like Rhino or Hokunin. Sorry for the 3D Artist i not mentioned here but you still have my biggest respect.
3. He never created maps like Rabbit or Rhino or Outlawz or Deer or [insert here more mapcreators].
4. He never fixed things by himself like optimizing staticmeshed etc.

Sidenote: I never met him personally or ingame and have nothing bad to say about him but why he is the future of PR?

Not yet but I've heard he ended up being thrown into a lake somewhere in Germany on IRL community meeting near Munich.
PR Team narrative\ is as true as saying that the Earth is round. There will be always someone like Hollywood who claims that the Earth is flat.
It takes a strong man to deny what's right in front of him. And if the truth is undeniable, you create your own. Whatever your truth is.

Ask anyone how they found out about PR or how they got interested, more than half will say through bluedrake if they are honest. Now that might not be the cool thing to say. But his videos were by far the most trending PR videos in the youtube algorithm. You underestimate the power of propaganda fastjack. What good is a game being actively developed if noone ever gets exposed to it?

Maybe new people start playing PR and than ….? You know what they will experience?

They will experience BULLSHIT.....

The elitism players will flame the rookies for being noob or they get temp banned for not having mic's or they get kicked for wasting the tank because the enemy tank saw them first or got kicked from the squad for the simplest Thing like being an unknown or they having a young voice or their english isn't the best.

They will not stay for Long.

What can Bluedrake42 do or change ? Creating Teambuilding Youtube Clips for PR with social coaching lessons for admins and squadleads?

You really think Bluedrake can fix the toxicity from the community or will stop community clashes like seen from PRTA =HOG= and SSG?

What you just described is not something that would be a problem in the slightest if more players would be coming in through publicity like they used to. Ironically all those problems are actually the direct consequence of not having enough fresh people join in the first place.

I still remember back when there were much more newbies around and everyone was referring to them as bluedrake's fanboys. But back then elitist dickbags and admins couldn't afford treating them nearly the same way as they do now because they were such a huge part of the playerbase it would be suicidal for their server population.

Funnily enough lots of todays elitist dickbags came from that pool of people not too many years ago, oh i remember their names well.

You know what happened to them? Some left, some stayed and eventually they got good and integrated into the long term playerbase. A process that has been on the backburner more and more.

Now that the majority of the server population are all known names, it is like you said, the little guy doesn't stand a chance anymore. Most admins see them as someone they can treat however they like, hey if they ban them they tell themselves it was viirus anyway or something.

The few times i have been on the last two years that's the impression i've got at least, bans handed out on the slightest provocation. As if a new guy trying out the game would ever bother creating a forum account and making an appeal instead of just giving up on such a first impression and a turd of a community.

This would all change if there was a big influx of new players, it would force admins to be more considerate again, same for elitist players, if a good chunk of your team is newbies you can't afford to ignore them and you will be forced to integrate them and communicate.

Same for the server community clashes, why do you think they got so intense?
Back in the day there were enough players to go around, you could easily see 3-5 full servers on a weekday, so most servers minded their own business and there was more of a free market situation going on with less conflict. We had more servers like new era, TG, based, dprc, etc.

Now the current playerbase mostly composed of known people is really only big enough to fill a single server at a time. So the few servers left are all at each others throats, fighting over the playerbase and some even trying to get each other's server license revoked. And admins figure they have to cater to all the established player names and clans to please them, sometimes even turning a blind eye to cheating in those circles.

People usually don't join the server with the best rules and admins but the one that is seeded. Which only exacerbates the issue as (a) more elitist server(s) feels entitled to the playerbase because they are 'better'.

If we had more new players joining again all those problems would solve themselves.
