I've thought about the base flags and concluded they might need a makeover, so I whipped up a couple of models for both the Chinese and the MECS. I'd love both critique and new ideas.
How would YOU think the middle easteren coalitions flag would look?
China
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Middle Eastern Coalition
I know they look a bit on the crispy side, but as I said, this was a 10 minute job. Hope you folks like.

The MEC must worship the AK

I personally don't really care what the flags look like. They look fine to me already

theyre nice but for realism, chinas flag should stay the way it is, since its their true flag. as for the mec i like the very first one you created.

i think the MEC flags sporting AKs would be more suited for a terrorist organization, i dont think a coalition of nations would opt for a flag depicting weapons because it would make them look overly violent, having said this: the flags that DO have AKs on them would be good if, in PR, terrorist factions were included.

Well, these were considerations for a mod set in the future, say a couple of years from now. During WWIII, as previously discussed. Please note that the flags are meant as COMBAT flags, which are an entirely different thing from NATIONAL flags. Most countries go through several revisions of combat flags every decade 8The ones that use them these days), and I figured they would probably end up with something simmilar to these. (Think how the Army, Navy, and Airforce needs different flags) I will me making more though, and perhaps people could have a poll about which one they'd rather see in an eventual mod.

I would hate to prove you wrong, but have a look at Mozambique's flag.

Now you say.

well i didnt say that weapons werent used on flags, i was saying that i dont think a newly formed coalition of nations would go for it because it would make them look violent, as for a battle flag, they might. when i first responded on that subject i was under the impression that they would be national flags.
in either case, in battle wouldnt a unit raise their national flag over a captured area? like on iwo jima the marines raised the stars and stripes not their globe eagle and anchor emblem.

Well, that was a setup for army photograpers, and you don't really raise flags like in BF anymore. Maybe something other than flags should be considered, but they DO have a nice feel to them, so it would be a shame not to keep them.

well the second flag they raised (the famous picture/statue/video) was sort of a setup, there was a smaller much more makeshift flag they raised earlier. you are right, they dont really use flags as they used to, but i think thats the best way to show who has a CP and who doesnt.
BTW i mean no disrespect to your flags in saying what i have, they are well done and being able to create art is a skill that i dont have

It actually says "Arabic font"
In order for me to write arabic, I would need the language pack, and I only had some of the old stuff I wrote handy, so it was either this or "All male variety hour"
I think you see why I chose the one I did, but I can easily add your idea, which is quite good.

lol, go with "all male variety hour", we could call it an easter egg...
