Hi

Please give us an option to lower the commarose sound for ourselves since this is crazy. not only the 50 ticket horn is too loud but most of the check your fire things are also irritating

There's no setting in the engine for that, so making anything like that optional won't be possible.

You can mute commrose sound in the bf2 soundconfig, but i think it will mute the player weapon sounds aswell.

Wasn't there a thread discussing just removing all the sound for the commands? Because who cares apart from calling for a medic?

It certainly would be a nice change to remove the commarosa but to be fair I kind of like the voices but not as loud. And doing shit with the files like schakal mentioned is out of the question.

There might be a setting we can edit through launcher.

Code: Select all

gameLogic.messages.setVolumes float float -> void
We will see if we can add an option for it to Launcher

Nevermind then, was looking at AudioSettings/Sound classes

I would definitely appreciate such thing as muting commo rose. Really this thing drives me mad, especially when i'm in firefight.

After investigating this, there is no option to adjust radio and local comorose separately. Only one setting for both.

What about how far the comorose can be heard?

I think it can be heard farther than some weapons?

I thought I saw a guy shooting at someone that was going "SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY" and whatever else with the comorose, and I couldn't hear the weapon but I could hear what he was saying. The were running around each other.

Not sure if it can be adjusted. It might be hard-coded, but I'll check if there's any files that can configure it.

Stupid question, maybe, but what about just 'three' settings for sound levels? For example low, medium, high (current volume level), and rather than adjusting the output volume of the channel, you simply point at a different sound file set. The 'low' set would be the same sounds, reproduced to be gated at a much lower volume, with 'medium' halfway between that and 'full' or what we hear from the default sound files. I ask this stupid question not knowing how tripling these files would effect overall program size, etc. Just curious if such odd workarounds are even possible, if not feasible?

I had to do something like this for one of my projects where adjusting the stereo output of a sound file (left/right/center) was way too much of a PITN, ended up with 3 small sound files produced with their output hard-set, options variables simply pointing to a different file as set by users.

I'm pretty sure the server is hardcoded to decide how to filter these messages, seen something like that in the assembly before.
