I wanted to give a heads up on this simple tool for grabbing heightmaps

It has a drawback in having no way to zoom out and still download heightmap at fullest resolution (unless you zoom in and download bit by bit) as you download what you see, but is otherwise simple to use.

Omg yes! you have no idea how much lately i have been playing microdem and making a heightmap from real world, love this.

There is a website: https://terrain.party/ where you can download height data of specified square area.
Sometimes it doesn't work, but for most of places you can download heightmaps.

Absolute not working for me. Get always application error.

I am aware of terrain.party but it doesn't work most of the time and recently seems to have completely gone under. At least I can't download anything with it.

Since Tangram seems to have died/broken down, I found another one.

https://heightmap.skydark.pl/

This one even has option to download both heightmap and sattelite image of same area. Limited to Cities Skylines again though (1081px res).
