I apologize in advance for the bombastic title, this isn't an "attack" but a real question. I recently came across the youtube channel of MaxPV1981, he has some pretty interesting BF2 modding content such as what he claims to be working tank APS, drones and so on. This guy has apparently been developing his own small BF2 co-op mod for several years now, called AIX2 Reality. The players of his mod are evidently mostly Russians, as he posts development updates only on the VK site and in Russian.



On December 15th of last year, MaxPV1981 made this post on the AIX2 Reality VK page




It should be mentioned that MaxPV1981 isn't saying this for no reason - he claims he tried to help PR development in the past but was turned down, and apparently the beloved PR lead developer Mineral filed a report against his co-op/singleplayer mod on the Mod DB website earlier this year, and the mod was taken off the page for a time. Now the mod is back on Mod DB, but I am just saying this to provide context for why he has obvious bad blood with the PR dev team. He's also evidently suggesting that the PR dev team has taken some work of his in the past, though what he's referring to I couldn't find.



On September 5th this year, a day after the 1.6.8 PR update was released, MaxPV1981 made this post:



Obviously this guy has a crass way with words, but his claim should not be discredited just because he said the word "fucking" or, as I've seen a certain developer do today when asked about this, calling him "some drug addict".

I only ask for a proper response to this, did the PR team really develop this feature by itself several months after this guy did?

No, we have no idea what he did to make destroyable mines and frankly didnt even know he did it. We are using code from our serverside memory hooks. Getting things to work in singleplayer is easy, but having them work on dedicated servers is a different story. If he came up with a way to do it without our serverside changes, good for him.
This feature got implemented by Alon based on an idea I had. The idea was mostly about fixing disappearing mines, having them destroyable was just a nice side-effect.


His mod got removed from Moddb because it is full of stolen content from PR, FH2 and other mods. We talked to him about it and tried to resolve the issue before before contacting the Moddb team, but he was not happy with our offers. As such it got removed as per moddb guidelines.

Thank you for the reply. It's sad that the relationship is what it is, from a laic point of view it seems like the guy could do some good stuff for PR.

How do they even got away naming their mod aix without any possible link to it
