Commander UAV tricks & Controls?

Ive been commanding off and on over the years and never been entirely sure Im mashing the right buttons for the sometimes confusing UAV view. I think things have changed as well over the years. Can anyone help? There used to be a thermal view that I no longer can find, removed? I know lazing targets is gone? How the heck do you mark things briefly on the map with the '?' mark, it seems to be a bit random? Flying choppers seem to mark easily. The marking is essential on a maps (mostly wooded) with no real reference points.

So, I got the zoom, what Id like is thermal if its there and reliable temp ? mark placing (you know what Im on about if you've used the UAV) and any other things I dont know about.
Is this all in the manual...Its been a while since I looked but seem to remember it was a bit thin on detail...ill check now :)

PS I love if commanders cld still place mortar marks again, also as a warning to team mates.

Switch between normal and thermal view using 1 and 2, and T while in thermal mode to choose between white hot and black hot with left click. Some factions/layouts dont have thermal on UAV or no UAV at all.

Lazing targets is gone.

"?" has always been inconsistent but sometimes if you spam it between two points of where you want to mark it will work, then you just mark between the two question marks.

Yes, helis are more consistent to spot, though they sometimes are unspottable if they are very low to the ground, sometimes you can spot them if you spam spot around them or around the tale of the heli for some reason.

I want back the satelite laze too. Pretty sure thats what it was, on target for 30 seconds before Earth rotates.
