Instead of ripping open then only dropping the field dressing patch kit on the floor for either your self or someone near you, the field dressing patches should act similar to the medical kit.

Healing your self: Click and hold while looking up or down ( similar to the old medical kit self heal )

Healing others: Click and hold facing a friendly who is damaged

OR Left click hold or right click hold depicts friendly or self heal.

I like the current field dressing mechanic however it is unrealistic that you drop a bandage on the ground and you automatically get healed a little bit while under fire.

The field dressing should still give the same amount of healing properties as it does currently.

Short of this suggestion ( Turn Field dressing into a limited use medical kit )

How long would it take to bandage someone with a field dressing compared to just dropping it on the floor at healing that way?

Who's gonna make the animation for that?

It would take the same amount of time it would take to heal ( lets say 25% health ) with the normal medical pack. Yes it is going to be longer than dropping a patch but that's the whole reason it should be considered. If you get a cut do you drop a band aid on the floor and it automatically applies? The animation would be the same animation as the medical pack already created.

OR If we do keep the normal drop and patch technique it should act as how ammo kits act it take a couple of seconds for the health bar to regain HP. ( Automatically with patching up sounds )

So basically everyone has a self healing medical bag like the medics, but maybe more limited in how much it can heal? Not sure it can be limited to number of uses since the Medic bag is not.

I think everyone would like this, though would change all the game play around being wounded.

The thing that gets under your skin about patches is you still have to fall back and find a crate or a medic, this also means you can't be too far off on your own because if you got hit you would only bleed out with no chance of living.

With this new "everyone gets a medic bag" idea, it would be really nice to be able to heal yourself, continue fighting, heal your self some more, keep fighting, and so on.

Though I don't think people would get many kills after that, it would be like an auto-medic for everyone that gets hit.

I don't think the DEVs intend it to be so easy to get healed up without you having to be removed from the action somehow.

Also, it might not work very easily since the medic bag is fixed to a certain weapons spot, and in the past, it SEEMED like it was not an easy thing on here to simply switch weapons to different weapon #'s.

Let me start by saying the medic system is the only mostly un-realistic aspect of this game, but lets ignore that for now.

Should take about 15 seconds with a rough finger tip fast wound cavity stuffing. Cut the excess bandage and tie it around the gauze stuffed/damaged tissue for pressure. Tourniquets in the game would be nice, just press 8 again to swap between medic items.

Bandage should stop the 5 minute bleeding out on a downed teammate replacing 25% or anybody still mobile should not have the flashing bleeding out screen, but to get fully patched up you need to see the medic.

Bandage should remain 25%+ health and stop the bleeding out flashing screen, the fading out to darkness/unconsciousness shouldn't start till 50% health.

To represent better the non-bleeding out visuals, the feeling of just having been wounded in some way causing blood loss, the release on endorphins. Its like a tunnel vision sort of if you aren't looking around, feels like a lot of work to look around, causes a slight swaying vertigo feeling when looking around or moving, lightheadedness. Less extreme version happens like when you get blood drawn from doctors that feeling you get is the sudden change in blood pressure and the bodies chemical reaction to being punctured.

Its part of the emotional state trying to keep cool but also the biological chemical reaction (adrenaline, endorphins) of being wounded as well.

The colors may change in contrast due to light sensitivity, blurred vision or you see neurological damage caused visual flashes of light from post concussion of explosions. The pupils dilate letting in more light, messes with the whole receptor system in the brain..

Not like the fading dark vision from lowered brain oxygen which should only happen at 50% health if we talking blood loss leading unconsciousness then death. Number one cause of death is blood loss and the heart stopping.

We are like biological robots that grow through cell division, everything is crazy. Ever heard electronic noise of your ears ringing or some other similar electronic sounding noises? We are electrical energy possessing a body, or at least electricity is the word we made up for it. The ringing might be from brains electrical frequencies being affected by symptoms/causes of tinnitus or other.

The energetic manifests physically, the nature is there to observe. The brain activity comes from the electricity that animates it. We are liquid cooled and blood chemically supplies oxygen that we breath from the atmosphere.

I think he means that it still limited. You heal the same amount but it ends, and then you need to resupply. Only you have the choice of how much you want to heal.

I'm sort of positive to this suggestion, but how would it work with actually resupplying? The patch number is one by design (maybe?) so you'll have to use more supplies to get it back.
