field dressings falling through ground

This is the first version I've played, and being a negative number, I'm aware it isn't the "full", so to say, release of this mod, but I must say that I'm not impressed by the way the Field Dressing packages realistically fall through the map, never to be seen again.

Perhaps use a 'box' of Field Dressing packets, or increase the collision detection variable to something that of a claymore, so they don't slide around or fall through the earth.

Otherwise, continue what you're doing, because I'm sure you'll get around to it eventually.

It should be #2 though.

I think this problem is actually specific to some maps.. not sure what is causing it. there should not be any way for this to happen (I even set these field dressings to use the same collision mesh as the vBF2 first aid kits).

Will take a look at it again. I agree it's annoying, but I dunno what is causing it ???

Yes it is annoying :(

Please try to fix it!

But it's realistic

When was the last time you were running through tall grass or a swamp area and you threw your band-aids on the ground? They disappear! I think it ads to the realism.

Just kidding, I usually end up looking around for the dressing and get plugged in the back of the head.

0.5 is a negative number?

only happens to me when i'm prone. Maybe the reason?

I could go off about this, but complaining about programming **** doesn't change anything.

Let's all be grateful that they are aware of this bug and are actively trying to fix it..

One other thing that really bothers me (in BF2 as well), is the weapon sounds.

Often, you can hear the bullets landing around you, but if the other guy is far enough away (which is usually less than 100m), you'll have no idea where the shots are coming from.

Now that the bullet landing sounds have been increased in volume, I often find myself running around in circles because all I'm hearing is POP POP PEWW FWAP UGH, and no gun shots.

P.S.

And the bug that makes your missile disappear if you die while it's still in flight.

i think you should throw it away from you and wait a second or so before diving on top of it. well at least that's what e-gor suggested it to me. so that your body/foot dont push it through the floor

i don't think they fall through the ground, when it disappears is because you used it, just the cross (+) sign and the healing sound dont work. i'm pretty sure it's this because sometimes when u're almost dying and a medic comes to heal you the cross sign and the sound dont work too

ARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!! Happens to me over 1/2 of the time! I am bleeding to death, so I pull it out, toss it on the ground and lie over it until it dessapears.....Why am I still bleeding?! I kill an enemy MEC and take his kit, I pull it out again and throw it on the ground. It falls through, 5 seconds later I DIE. This happens to me all the time and it is VERY frusterating.

OK, first up a field dressing will heal you up only a little, it is often not enough to stop the bleeding and it will simply prolong your life a little. I once succeeded in stoping my bleeding by using my field dressing and killing no less than 3 more enemies to take and use their field dressings one after the other.

Secondly if you throw your dressing very close to you it often does not even have time to sit on the ground before its taken up by you again, so it can look like it disappears into the ground unless you are looking very closely at it.

If you deploy a field dressing while in the prone position make sure you are pointing your view 45 degrees up towards the sky, not looking at the ground.

Nevertheless some times (but its not that often) field dressings will fall through the environment and be lost. When this happen I just sigh and ‘believe’ that the sterile envelope was penetrated by the slugs that hit me and rendered the dressing useless.

ONLY USE THE DRESSING FROM 1m AWAY. DO NOT CRAWL ON TOP OF IT. TOSS IT IN FRONT OF YOU AND CRAWL -NEAR- IT.

Works 90% of the time for me... maybe more.

ive spent alot of time chasing my field dressings down hills or after throwin it down watch it dance around. and when i use it its about a 70% chance that it heals me or it just disapers. but it dosnt bother me that much as long as you are in a squad with a medic and he isnt a noob you will live if not you bleedout and die and respawn and start again. but i would still rather bleed out from wounds then play vbf2
