Any tips for helicopter CAS?

Hello,
I play co-op by myself and sometimes with 2 other friends vs Bots and I enjoy flying CAS runs with attack helicopters. However I have issues spotting enemies and being able to tell which direction I am getting shot from. I have very average earphones so the directional audio isn't really good. Any tips would help, thanks!

Yes, just rain hell onto the battlefield from your bases side of map, high altitude. 1 auto cannon shell per square inch on a sweep and double sweep coverage pattern.
Click semi-auto as fast as you can and slow firing pace as needed to prevent over heating and you will never overheat. Unlimited ammo in main, dump all you have onto the enemy, if it is human players you scare them or get their heart rates up.
Use squad leader marker as 2nd seat auto cannon gunner to set markers to know where you are pointed at through the view distance. Then you sweep everything through the view distance. From both far horizantally and far high up.
Muttrah is perfect example, but any strip of objectives works, especially in woods
Distance is key to having time to dodge AA, safety is on your main bases side of map unless AA is camping. Then flares and moving even further back.

If you really want best tactic. Its whole team defends last flag from start of the round, 10 minutes maximum till fighting. View distance suppression and scanning control, with all FOB and vehicle assets you can get spread around it, outnumbering, out gunning enemy with TOW/AA/HMG and armor, CAS coordinated clearing strikes.
DOD edge FOBs if possible if its in view of last flag with everything built, with armor supporting using the last flag as bait the whole round, to troll the enemy by not showing up to the flags. Then controlling their PR experience to its maximum potential of fire display of everything shooting through view distance till enemy is seen.
This has many advantages due to being close to main base, nothing has to go far to die, nothing has to go far to repair itself, close supply, heli, logi re-supply, less UAV travel fuel. With logi repairs dropped for armor.
Maximum assets and time to build everything, 1st minute, FOBs dropped, 2nd minute, squad leader drops assets in a line, 1 man digs each thing done on the 3rd minute begining to arm and load.
3 TOW/ 3 AA/ 6 HMG/ 30 foxholes over 3 super FOBS, 1 squad per super FOB in view of each other and last flag, 1 area attack per super FOB, 1 emplacement hit per mortar spread line. 300-400 meter wide line of assets to mitigate artillery damage.
1200 meters of super FOB, 3 dividing enemy attention to target. FOB emplacement lines are 100 meters forward of the FOB spawn so artillery doesn't hit it. Each spot is its own target.
Tanks, APC, IFV, AA vehicles, jeeps, logis drop repair stations. 1 man digs per emplacement, everything done within 1 minute of being placed, then armed, minute 2.
Quickly done right outside of last flag closer to main for advantages of having short trans runs, short UAV travel, short armor/CAS/trans RTB, main is the back up spawn FOB.
Kashan STD can have a maximum of 4 tanks, 3 Bradley IFV, 2 Stryker APC, 1 AA vehicle, 3 TOW, 3 AA, 6 HMG, 2 mortars, 30 foxholes, CAS is 1x F-16, 1x A-10, 1x Kiowa, 4x logi repair/supply trucks, 4x trans trucks, 1 UAV.
That is 13 thermal assets defending the South Outpost flag with flat terrain, easy to control view distance, edge of map back up FOBs and the 3 super FOBs, with mortars potentially being a 4th further back or 200 meters on side of FOB away from enemy.
Kits 1x HAT, 2x AA, 3x MG, 3 Marksmen, 4x LAT, 4x AR, 2 snipers. Once all assets are manned including mortars/TOW with ammo runners, that leaves 14 kits open if HAT isn't on a TOW. So things like that need to be self realized by player or managed by the squad leader.
6 AA positions between the 2 kits, 3 FOB AA and anti-air vehicle
HAT and AA can just sit on 2 crates for fast loading shooting at armor sounds till he sees enemy armor.
View distance suppression and scanning control. There ya tip for ya. Now I want to stick it in the enemy.
