A-10 Please

Will PR be putting in the A-10 Thunderbolt or A-10 ll Thunderbolt. These would be sweet in PR...

Here's a qoute from Globalsecurity.com on the A-10's weaponry...
The General Electric Aircraft Armament Subsystem A/A49E-6 (30 millimeter Gun System) is located in the forward nose section of the fuselage. The gun system consists of the 30mm Gatling gun mechanism, double-ended linkless ammunition feed, storage assembly and hydraulic drive system. The General Electric GAU-8/A 30mm seven barrel cannon, specifically designed for the A-10, provides unmatched tank killing capability. The gun fires armor-piercing projectiles capable of penetrating heavy armor. It also fires a high explosive incendiary round, which is extremely effective against soft skinned targets like trucks. The cannon fires at a rate of 4,200 rounds per minute. The A-10's maneuverability, teamed with the gun's accuracy, allows the pilot quick reaction with lethal effects. Other weapons include the AGM-65 Maverick and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.
Now that's Power

Imagine being in a large scale tank war, and then seeing an A-10 come outta no where and turning enemy tanks into swiss cheese with those 30mm Uranium Tipped Rounds, that would be sweet...

Well PR, what do you say

Yeah, it pretty much is a must in PR, not to mention, these A-10's can go through hell and back and still be capable of flying.

If we add a system where soldiers have health at different hit boxes, id love to see vehicles with the same thing, say your left engine on your A-10 gets hit, your speed goes down a little, but oyu can still make it back for repairs =).

when i lived in fort brag they flew around ALL the time, it became as normal as seeing birds in the air, i loved it. along with chinooks, and blackhawks i beleive, it was quite sometime ago. fort bragg is located right next to the Pope Airforce base, it was cool =)

BTW, interesting fact I learned on Mil channel (just got it sunday, YAY!) during the gulf war the a-10 scored its first air-to-air kill agianst IRG helo, it can fly with one motor gone, 10 sq. ft. of wing missing, both hydraulic systems shot out

Didn't the pilot say he downed it with the GAU-8? Poor SOB's had no chance at all.

I'd personaly use the 30mm Gatling Gun, 4,800 rpm should turn that helo in swiss chess in a few seconds.

Yeah, that would be really good. Even better, it could change the flight model, e.g. if your left engine was damaged it would make the plane want to yaw to the left etc.

That depends how far pr go with realismn. if every little detail like that was added PR could be named Project Reaaallysllooow.

Yeah, they keep wanting to scrap it, but every time they try a war comes along, it kicks ***, and the naysayers have to shut the hell up for another few years.

Nope, the A-10 is still in use, and it did a kick *** job in Afganistan providing close air support for Special Forces.
