WW2 tanks and anti-tank rifle damage

Does the anti-tank rifle do any damage to tanks at all in the early 1942 and later WW2 factions? It seems the only thing we have in the way of stopping tanks is static cannons and tanks. Would be nice to at least track a vehicle after a few shots to the tracks.
