honestly i dont know why this is an issue anymore

i could understand why people were so pissed thinking theyd release the expantion before the Mod tools but the mod tools are out rite now so why is it such a big deal if they make an expantion? when road to rome or secret weapons came out was it really that evil? my god relax people

No, Solo, you just want to 'steal' every coder in the BF2 universe and make them work for PR so that WE can release the same stuff for free!
Right? :D

I still don't want to have to pay for a few models, night maps/night vision, and some uber grappling hooks or w/e.
again nobody had a problem with road to rome and secret weapons? its the nature of the beast

it depends on the price and wats actually in it i wont pay the full 50 for it but id pay like 25 or 30

I like Project Reality for a reason.. :) Besides, I don't like the idea of people swinging all over on their wire-sliding things. :)
Aww, come on. Admit it. You want to play Tarzan, Lord of The Apes just like the rest of us! :P

There are pro's and con's to everything out there, and this expansion pack has a fair amount of both. What I don't understand is having a "movement" against BF2:Special Forces.

Throughout the community, there are countless anti-SF signatures, threads, and images and I don't understand the sentiment. If you don't like the idea of expansion packs, don't buy them. If you don't appreciate EA or how EA operates, and it angers you enough to Photoshop old WWII propaganda posters, why not stop playing EA products?

I purchased Road to Rome and I was happy with it. I thought the new tanks and weapons were a nice addition, but the maps brought the real shine to the product. Secret Weapons... I was really disappointed in. I stopped playing both maybe, 9 months after buying them. So the "shalf life" was rather short, but that's the nature of the expansion pack.

Will I buy SF? I don't know yet. Expansion packs and the stock version (vanilla) of any game loses its popularity and its fun once modifications hit the scene. I don't think it's anything to Photoshop over, honestly.

That's just one man's opinion.

i think they(the people who dont want it) think that just because they are working on the expansion they(EA) is noet working on the patch, which is untrue they clearly said the DICECanada is working on the expansion, and DICESweden is doing the patch... which brings me to wonder how many new bugs will the patch have?

Patches are horrible things though, that is one problem I do sympathise with EA for, as when you fix one thing, it damages another thing, and so on and so on. EA have given us all enough support they can muster in my opionion, and im glad i did buy the game. I read in a PCGAMER article some centuries ago that game companies get very little from the game itself, and its money well spent in my eyes. LONG LIVE EA!!

im with Dre on this one the fact that people are so up in arms over it makes NO sense i mean if you dont want it you dont want it big deal but to actually get mad because EA is making a product and trying to make money is absolutely retard and people that get pissed at it are stupid its called Capitalism the goal is to make as much money as possible youd think they were forcing you to buy it, EA isnt perfect and they make alot of mistakes but to get pissed over this is really stupid and shows a lack of intelligence in the BF community

right, theyre trying to please a broad audience, hence the mod tools becoming available, their goal is to make money, they dont do that by putting out free improvements for bf2 they do that by making more products, if you dont wanna buy it, cool, if you do, cool. let them make their money, im happy because the mod tools are out and PR can get started.

HOLY BAD GRAMMER BATMAN!

Sorry beck, i just found the fact that your entire paragraph didnt include a single puncuation. :D

I dont really think its an "up in arms" situation. hell, half the people who are "up in arms" will buy it despite their opposition. I simply feel that EA is putting less and less effort into at least softening the fact that they're digging for as much dough as they can, and placing quality on the shelf. There are so many bad reviews of BF2 (we're excluding these GameSpy BS articles btw  ) with valid points, but are being disregarded. The next patch will prove where EA's motives really lie...

in money, which is where most large companies in a capitalist society truly lie. as i said, theyre aiming for a broad audience which doesnt always include people who go for realism. but they do send out patches (little as they do) for free and also free mod kit tools... for free, so we can have PR... for free. if they want to make their own mod and sell it to people fine.
