Anyone else have this problem?

Take a black US soldier and put him about 75+ meters away from you and take a insurgent with the ski mask on and put him that far away as well, now is it just me or at that distance do they look the exact same? Because if it's just me then it's fine, but if not, I am going to see if we can get rid of the ski masked insurgeant. All too many times I see that black head and start shooting (no matter which side I'm on) because I think it's an enemy. I'll try to take a screen shot next time I see either of them a distance away from me.

Q
Enemy spotted
1)
"Enemy units on the move"
CEASE FIRE SOLDIER
2)
"Enemy infantry spotted"
LIGHT 'EM UP - 'TIS THE SEASON
---
At that distance, you should always be spotting before shooting infantry - well that's what i do. If they looked the same close up, then imo it would be much more of a problem.

However, anything that makes the two teams look more different is always welcome

Or-
"If he's got a rag on his head, shoot em dead." -Atlanta Falcons
"If he's eating rice, shoot him thrice." - My retort

Well you know how finnicky the spotted system can be, so sometimes spotting them doesn't work.

I have not had this problem. I look at the clothes and weapons (not faces) before shooting.

Doesn't work. The ski-mask guy has on all khaki so he still looks the same as the black dude. You can't differentiate the pattern at the distance.

I don't have the problem because I look for his camo helmet, if he goes a little lighter on the top, he's USA. Anyway, if I ever have doubts and I need to shoot I do what Nightwolf says and shoot first, ask questions later.

Yeah... the Helmet doesn't show and all you see is a black head that looks like ski mask and the clothing have about the same colors.

OK this is the ski mask guy at somewhat close range, I still need to find a picture of the black USMC at a distance. But the ski mask guy even further and the black USMC at 75+ meters, you seriously can't tell a difference.

At least for me haven't had that problem... In doubt, I run to cover and check the map. Or just try to get close without being seen.

Hmm, it does look similair. Then again so do Jungle USMC and PLA camo. Hopefully things'll be reskinned so that it's easier to identifiy by just looking at them.

Hahahaha.
Seriously though, why is the spotting system so messed up? I seem to run into "dead zones" where I can't spot guys. But if I move far enough, I can.

the insurgent spec ops and the americam crewman look exactly the same at one rang.

Anyone remember Counter-Strike beta 1?
The only difference between CTs and Ts was the Ts had their sleeves rolled up - now that was TK hell.

I don't know but I hate it! I hate when I'm looking dead on at a guy, shooting at him and no one in my squad sees him and I get killed trying to relay his position.

Yeah I had the same problem at Muttrah City. I TK'd a USMC guy cause the black ski mask just made him look like an enemy.
This caused me to be over-cautious of shooting guys with black caps, which led to me being shot dead by an arab who looked the same after we stared at each other for way to man seconds.
Of course I was not sure what I was looking at because the spotting system does not work reliably...
