NEW KIT SUGGEST - Commando.

Hi every one, i'm here to suggest a new kit, Commando.
I already ear you sayd "Hey dude, they're a Special Force kit ingame! Dont post sensless tread..." but i'm talking about specialise that kit, like marksman and sniper.
Let me discribe what is my idea.(Will take U.S.M.C. as example)
here we have the SF Kit already in game, M4 P226N Soflam....etc...etc.
here what i suggest is add Commando kit (something like SEALS kit), giving to player the same camo uniform as sniper, suppressed Mp5 ( or any other assault riffle ) suppressed P226, Soflam etc...To force teamwork the dev just have to force player to be in same squad to got the kit.

Dont you think it will be nice to be fully camo whit silenced gun assaulting enemy position :-P :razz: :-P :razz: :-P :p

Seems pretty useless to me, no offence to yourself, but the ghillie suit never works, the spec ops already fill the need for a recon unit but the silenced weapon sounds fun

mp5 is a machine pistol, not an assault rifle ;)
but apart from that, i dont really see what the kit would be good for - it would be a lone wolf kit, since staying with the squad would effectively compromise it´s stealth aspect (what good is a silenced mp when there´s a roaring saw right next to you).
also, this doesnt really make that much sense to me, since something like this wouldnt be used in an open conflict, but rather on a secret sabotage mission or so ^_^

Request it to go on a secret sabotage mission ? (give him a wire cutter or something that disable commander asset but don't destroy it)

how about give the spec ops kit a grapple hook? if the insurgents have one why not usmc, china and brits?

Or make it so that on some maps you can be the seals, and they have slienced weapons.

Spec ops: Silenced M14
Rifleman: Silenced M4A1
Grenadier: Silenced Scar L with GL :shock: or something....
Anti Personnel: Silenced M4A1
Combat Engineer: Silenced HK53A3 or Silenced MP5
Corpsman: Silenced G36 or M4A1
Anti Tank: Silenced M4A1

Limited Kits
Support: Silenced M60 :mrgreen: or Silenced M249 Saw
Sniper: Silenced L96A1
Marksman: Mk 12 Mod 0
Heavy AntiTank: Silenced M4A1
Anti Air: Silenced M4A1

Who the hell ever heard of a silenced LMG?

Anyhow, I'm still in the line of thinking that the Spec Ops should be removed. My idea was to replace that with a "CQC/CQB" kit that would be designed for short range, in your face action.

Onto the original poster's idea, there was talk of a "recon kit" in a previous thread. Somwhat similar to what you're suggesting. The main emphasis behind the kit was to provide recon, spot for snipers and other things of that nature. Something like a forward observer. I envisioned it being requestable as well, and with the special ability to spot for artillery despite not being a SL.

Sounds like a lonewolf uncapable base rape-o-matic class to me. Requiring you to be in a squad won't encourage teamwork, it will just make the class useless for those who want to use teamwork. A suppressed SMG during a firefight involving machineguns and rifles just has too short of a range and not enough power (it would be absolutely useless vs. body armor). It's pointless unless everyone has suppressed weapons.

The only bases that are going to stay static enough for you to go after (and with enough good targets for you to sabotage) are going to be uncapable bases. So you sneak in with your commando-espionage kit, damage some vehicles or assets, then the commando will inevitably turn to spawn camping. Even if you don't want to there will be people spawning all over the place to get vehicles, so you'll have to if you want to stay alive.

So sabotage/commando kits are great for singleplayer campaigns, really bad for multiplayer battlefield games.

Howdy all,

Entertaining thread. But a dose of reality is what this mod is all about. So lets get real with the weapon kits. A suppressed M14 in SOPMOD gear still requires one to manually cycle the rounds, so that's kinda dead. A P226N when built would require a Nielson device or one built into the suppressor (which the navy isn't using right now), so the p226 is going to require to be manually cycled too, unless they add Nielson device/Silencers like an AAC Evo 9 or a B&T Impuls II.

i see some good things with a silenced weapon happening -- youre in the middle of a squad vs squad firefight. silenced gun flanks, and takes out a bunch of guys. that would be kind of cool. i dont think we should discount it just because it could be potentially used as a noob weapon. i mean... look at support :shock:

the m4 has been nerfed and even though i first thought it wouldnt be enough, it is far from being the superweapon it once was, actually it is pretty mediocre right now

uh, there is no real point giving a silenced weapon a grenadelauncher, that´s like giving a supers-silent car the loudest horn on earth ;)
also, im not even shure wether there is a silencer for the scar - generally, silencers for assault rifles arent really that silent, i would rather call them supressors

also those weapons dont make sense, a g36, a hk53 - silenced?
(also, as someone pointed out, silenced weapons would be really weak)
