i just got PR and it seems pretty cool but whenever i try and play the map Mao something, my game shuts off. and when i try and play multiplayer. there are no servers

1. Try reinstalling usually works.
2. Check your filters only have same version and same mod checked.

do i need the latest patch for bf2?

yes you need the 1.4 patch. (That is the latest right?)

uninstall everything and start again.
(also after uninstall, delete battlefield 2 folder from My Documents as this sometimes causes problems for people)

hmmm now it i am being kicked from servers because punkbuster says i have inadequate O/S privlages?

Check that the server you are trying to join has public slots available, as some have reserved slots for members/ admin etc.
For example: 62/64(2) would symbolise that there are 2 reserved slots left for admins etc, and you won't be allowed to play until a public slot frees up.

Check your Punkbuster version if its up to date.

my PB is up to date, and there are no reserved slots. whats else could be causing this?

still happening, could this be because im running vista?

O yeah, i'm still running on XP, but i've heard that if you are trying to play BF2 on Vista, your chances are very low, maybe you'll have a little chance with 32 bit version of Vista, and try to run it while you are logged on as administrator.
