Insurgent Anti Tank

Sup, just registered.
Anyways, a friend and I were discussing the Insurgent Anti Tank and it's lack of a good sidearm.
Are we the only ones who think the pistol just doesen't do the trick? I realize they get 2 rockets opposed to 1 for the other teams but I really think they should get an SMG or atleast a more powerful pistol.
A Skorpion or UZI would rock balls. (Hell, you could even scrap the pistol)
Thxbye

Marginal return on investment is your answer to why not.

Yes i play the RPG Class as well. I find the pistol does not do enough damage for me to even bother using. Many instances i find my self shooting someone in the back to only find them turning around and killing me. Yes i probably kill them shortly after from blood loss (if they are alone). I would also be happier with a faster ROF.

I don't quite get it, are you making fun of the poor insurgents income?
Come on, both the Skorpion and UZI are perfect ghetto candidates for insurgents.
Oh well, I tried.

He's saying that the work required wouldn't be worth. I can't quite agree though. It'd be changing the way an entire class operates.
The same could've been said about the M14. We already had the Mk11, the M14 gameplay wise is almost the same except it makes a sexier noise.

What I meant is that as of right now we are working on the British so tweaking the insurgents is low on the list.

I see, understandable. I agree the British could get a makeover.
I think all of the other classes are excellent but playing Anti Tank feels a little naked.

i understand that the brits need more loving at the moment. i couldn't agree more. There is not real need to rush tweaking any of the insurgent classes right now. But just giving the RPG class a better defensive weapon later on down the road. would make the class less useless after firing off his grenades and less prone to using the grenades on infantry in CQCB.

No, the RPG is just fine as is. If you get the drop on someone at short range and the pistol isn't doing the trick, you need to work on your pistol skills.
As it is, tons of people go RPG class. They don't need a pistol. It really shouldn't be an attractive class. Its only use is against APCs, as anything else should be countered by an effective IED squad manning the bridges.

I beg to differ, a well placed RPG shot to the tail of a blackhawk/cobra can down them.
You're going as far as saying the class shouldn't even have the pistol? Come on, that just hurts me inside.
I just want a piddly little SMG that does the job in close range.

What about giving them a Model 18? That would improve on the pistol but not make them too powerful.

I love using rpg's on infantry. Funny watching them fly.

They shouldn't be *doing* the job at close range.

there shouldn't even need a pistol, because if you use it then your doing something wrong

Hehe I think Teek is on the money as well as JP.
You shouldn't be relying on your pistol for kills, if you are out of rockets then pick up another kit.
The point of the kit is to be unattractive.

Mind you there are also ammo dumps all over Al Basrah (I don't play Helmand much), in which case if I am near one, I -WILL- use RPGs against infantry. Why not? It's not like an insurgent in real life would hesitate to.

If it's between me dieing or waisting an rpg on a lone Marine, I'm blasting him away. I try to stick with the rpg because it is usefull in scaring off Helicopters when you land a hit. Like Smitty4212 said, ammo is all over, you just have to know where to find the ammo dumps.

I think that ALL Anti Tank kits should include a small SMG. (ALL = every coalition, heavy and light. Small = Uzi or Steyer TMP, etc)
I have also wondered why crewman kit includes an assault rifle? I thought that crewman uses smaller (= shorter) arms to fit better in tanks. I think that it would be nice to change their ARs to SMGs. Good choise here would be P90, MP5 or similiar. It would balance the game too. When a tank is exploding and the crewmen get out, they should have weaker arms than the rifle men.

Perhaps a weaker weapon for the crewman would convince more people to fight the tank to the death.
I see too many people take 1 hit and bail on the armor and sprint away.
That tank is your life, run away and repair or fight to the death but never bail out.

Suicide bombing them when they're rearming is much more effective, and you get to yell Allahu Akbar after.
