British Skins

Is it just me or do the British skins really look so so plain and hurried, near Half-Life (1) quality?
What'd be wrong using the Special forces Brit skins (Unless they all look like SAS).
And oh my god you need to replace those voices; our army maybe talked like that back in the WW's but nowadays it's a big cocky geezer from the Eastend leading the patrol.
"Owww'ight Moi sahn! Git yooor arse up on 'at 50 a'fore oi friggin' shoot yer!"
(Or at least so I imagine?!)

according to the IGN review of PR, the Brit models and skins are ugly
the British character models and animations just aren't up to scratch. We'd go as far as to say they're quite ugly

play them on hills of hamyong.
i don't see how they see that.
On low settings tho, they were pretty rough

There was a problem with the shaders that a dev noticed after the patch was completed. They will be improved (glitch corrected) in the next release of PR. (or so I hear)

Again? They said that before .5 came out. I brought this up in another thread and they just said "It was a shader problem, it'll be fixed by .5" and here's .5 and there's the ugly Brits. I dunno, unless they end up being as sharp as the Chinese are in reference to the camo patterns (they're kinda the same but with different colors) then I think I'll stop asking for new USMC models lol. Don't like the Brits at all. Their Bullpup weapon is awesome though (L86? Sorry, Don't like Bullpup so I don't know the terminology for em), did an excellent job on the model. Perhaps it's because Weapon making and Character making is a completely different ordeal...

The models and textures on the British soldiers are good, the problem was there was a mix up on putting them in the game and no one could figure out why they looked off until recently. [R-DEV]Vaiski found the issue and it will be fixed in the next client update.
Bottom row is what they should look like after the next client patch.

The textures still look lower quality compared to the others.
Much better though.

Hey KingofCamelot was the problem only for certain people? The models always looked like the bottom ones for me. I never understood why people bitched about the Brit models.

Look fine to me.

They look fine to me too, I guess it's the color of their camo that fool people eyes...

Well that's that then.
But what of the voices man?! EA may as well have changed all the 'enemy spotted!' to:
'What-oh old sport; Jerries on the way, put down that tea and look lively!"
Be more like:
"IN-CAM-EEEEEHN!!!!"

Its an actual texture problem, so it should be for everyone, but its perhaps worse on lower settings.

With Voice commands, there needs to be mixed reigonal voices.
75% have to be made up of scotts because i swear to god thats the % of the SAS that is scottish lol. One or Two Aussies, an Irish Bloke and cockeny gezza.
Anoth issue is that for the USMC side its like flippin Nam! 80% of thier soldiers are black!(I guess thats not as bad as dice. E.I, any class who had the rough job/ expected to stay and fight when i got rough and a pure combat class, with low skill was black lol, rude). Im sure its possible to change. Look at insurgents and their skinz. Spetsnaz spec ops in there too, with the other looks? Possible.
The GB forces are the complete opposite. Is it the BNP or the SAS? lol. Throw a couple in. Atm, it hardley reps reality!

I never understood what people were bitching about in reference to the British textures. For me, they always looked great... Even better than in those screenshots from KingofCamelot. I always figured that they weren't used to the brighter colors (or should I type "colours"?) of Brit camo patterns.
I own a pair of British camo pants. They do look a little bit more cartoony in comparison to woodland BDUs. Is THAT what people whine about?

Not possible. There are two models for each faction. Light soldier and heavy soldier. With the US, for example, the "heavy" (with body armour) model is the black soldier while the "light" (without body armour) model is white.
The only differences are in the kit set ups, which is why there is a difference between each class.
The reason all the soldiers in the UK side are white is because the majority of British soldiers are white. Which is why we cant have blacks, Gurkahs, Indians, etc.

I'd hazard a guess that this is incorrect.
There is of course the heavy, black soldier (Which I've noticed in vBF2! Do you think EA was making a chuckle on South Park's 'Operation Human Shield?'

)
and the lighter white soldier; but surely different hats/helmets count as separate skins?
The Spec-ops is a different skin,
I've seen both black AND white Crewmen
What's more, each model has different equipment strapped to the texture itself.
Or are you just purely refering to "THERE IS A BLACK, AND A WHITE SOLDIER?"
I confuse myself.
