stuttery gameplay - are my settings too high?

Hi,
I've been playing vanilla bf2 on all high settings 1600x1200 2x antialiasing for over a year without much of a hiccup. However, now that I've installed PR, I'm experiencing a lot of stuttery gameplay. On some maps, it gets so bad that I can barely exit the game, and when I do, the music is still running on the desktop and my page file is crazy high.
Does PR take more resources than vanilla and has anyone else had the really high page file problem where you basically have to reset to get rid of?

Maps like Albashra take more resources than vanilla...

Yup PR is much more demanding than vanilla. I can run it on high, but I decided to turn it down to med with 2xAA to maximize frame rates. Some times the jitters are too much to handel.

Yes its much more demanding, go here and follow its recomendations to begin with, but realise you may have to lower some settings even more than this.

There are some serious tweaks in the works that will ease the amount of resources PR will eat up, so have no fear smoother game play is in site.

So has anyone else experienced the game still running the musi in the background after exiting to the desktop, and the high page file?

I already have 2GB though...shouldn't that be enough? I think my settings are just too damn high.

Skwurl, that problem should have gone away, except for al basrah and possibly greasy mullet (get a friggin haircut laddo!)
It's true thought that someone with high settings might have to now go medium settings. It doesn't matter much as theres plenty of new things to fawn over in PR over vbF2 like teamwork, voip usage and laughs
