VIOP changes

Is there any way to change the VIOP (sorry if that's written wronly) so that squad leaders could talk to each other as well as the commander?

I think this would help in maps where there are bottleneck and multipul squads are trying to take the same flag on the map.

Apparently not changeable. I dare say the Devs would be on it like a ferret in a bucket of meat if it were.

It is VOIP and no, theres probably nothing the devs can do about it.
Everything is hardcoded :D

A trainer background program might be able to add options to the voip. PR needs to get a hacker on the team to figure it out. :D

'[R-PUB wrote:dunkellic']search function - lock thread pls
I'm not sure about locking the thread, I just searched "VOIP" and came up with 20 pages of threads and I couldn't find a thread about what I asked after looking for about 3 mins, I'm sure that is longer than most people would look......

Sorry for wasting your time [R-PUB]dunkellic

And thankyou for being so polite, as you have the [R-PUB] in your name...

Only way round it is to use VOIP for the squad and the SL's get on Teamspeak/Ventrilo etc.

It can be a real pain when 10 people are gabbing though.

One VoIP option the community has cried for since the dawn of time was Vehicle VoIP.

When I'm sitting outside a flag being shit whilst 2 idiots sit gormlessly on the side of my littlebird, I want to tell them AQAP "GET THE F*CK OFF AND GO!" instead of either:

A.) Waiting for a no-show result and getting blown up.
B.) Flying off, only to have them then type 'Take us back to the flag!' whilst the chopper is in dire need of repairs.

Does anyone use the games built in VoIP? It's never worked for me, so I just turned it of because it caused lag.

Especially when you just came from that same flag they want to go to!

Though ChavmanDrew, KobraKai and I are on TeamSpeak, we prefer to use in-game voice when we're all in the same squad.

You, sir, are missing out. In Project Reality more than half of squads use VoIP. It works on all the servers that I know of. Turn it on and the game will become 100% better. There might be an issue with your firewall if you have never got VoIP working in which you have to open some ports. Can you hear people on VOIP and not talk? That would be good enough.

Seriously, turn VOIP back on. It does not cause lag for me and unless you are playing US servers from Australia or running on a near dial-up connection you will not have lag.

If possible I would support server settings that kick people with VOIP disabled.

Well, ever since BF2 has come out, VoIP has never worked for anyone I know. You can never hear each other and it's only caused lag/slower loading times. So we all turned it off and just use vent. Maybe the latest BF2 patch has fixed these issues? I don't know, but when I had it on, no one used it on any server (vanilla BF2, mind you) because you could never hear each other, except for the odd person.

Then you can't have played this game for long or you don't know many people that play it. When Im it a squad usually over half the people I squad with use VOIP. And it works great. I have noe idea why games like HL2 has such a horrible codec on their VOIP, but BF2 seems to have got it right. It would be nice if they didn't hardcode it though.
When are they going to learn that their original gameplay usually isn't very good and many people just play it untill someone creates something better. They should try to make the sourcecode as flexible as possible and let modders mod as much as possible. People still need to buy the game (BF2) to play the mods, so DICE/EA would just make more money this way.
